OT- The TV Series Thread

Agree about the series Cove, i loved the first half of the series but it became more of a soap in the latter episodes. My issue about the portrayal wasn't so much the set up of the newsroom (which i will take your word for, my dealings were mainly with newspaper journalists) but the ideal that the reporters were all interested in getting to the root of what was actually going on in government and business and providing a service to their country rather than just cheap and easy stories (kiss and tell, badly-sourced hatchet jobs, mass appeal opinion peices) which make up most of what actually passes for news nowadays.

 

Gandalf understands your pain, not much room for TV when one is constantly questing, but at least modern technology allows for constant Not606 updating

Hebburn not everyone's cup of tea. My neighbour is from there and was mortified.
Lewis another brilliant series love both Whately and Fox they bounced of each other well.
Forgot the Sopranos I love anything about The Mob.

Wouldn't even attempt to try and swallow an oyster, I guess some of the finer things in life, just aren't for me.

 

Being a great lover of seafood l always wanted to try oysters, however, every time l got the chance to try one l bottled out. I think it was because l was afraid that if l didn't like it, it would be extremely bad manners to spit the thing out in front of other diners. Finally got the chance to try one discreetly whilst in Paris. Was amazed by how lovely they are, especially with fresh lemon juice, although some prefer red wine vinegar and shallots.
Would really encourage you to give it a go AB, just be sure to try them at a reputable venue, that way you can ensure they are good and fresh, a quick squirt of lemon and down it goes, yummy.

Season 5 of 24 won't be watching any others as I've been told the rest is bollocks.

Without a doubt the funniest thing on TV atm is Spy. Literally has my entire family in stitches

 

is it an adults thing or a family thing?

 

I can't see as it would be bad for kids, but young kids probably won't understand most of the humour. Its all very silly really...

There isn't any swearing

 

Spartacus (the war of the dammed starts next year for anyone who doesnt know )
Lost (Not everyones cup of tea and requires dedication but i thought was a good watch)
Breaking bad (excellent)
Arrow (Quite good resumes after the new year)

Theres also a Hannibal series starting next year which I am looking forward to as the films are great!!
