Yeah, I guess. But we all know what a leap it can be. Its alright knocking them in in droves for the academy, but the league as a whole nother matter.

Morning all from a very wet West West London...last physical day in the office until 3rd Jan - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

I have listening to the debate about sports funding over the past few days after the announcements of funding allocation - I can understand some sports that have had their funding cut being upset, but what do they expect? There was a guy from the Handball team really lashing out that whilst grass roots funding was still in place, it would have no effect as the Elite players has lost all their funding - I was disappointed that the reporter did not suggest to him that the "Elite" were hardly that and were just the better players of a very poor base and that funding was just being used for them to have a nice time playing their favourite sport!. But what really got my attention was the salary of the Chief Exec of the LTA - he is paid over £640K a year!! Now that is one failing organisation and he should have his arse sacked out of there - but I suppose these establishment boys all look after each other!

I think what gets my goat more is the amount handed out to some of the so-called elite athletes themselves. One in particular is the long jump guy (whose name I cant even remember) who failed miserably in the London Olympics - this after a row over him refusing to train with the team. £1M a year he was being paid for jumping in a sandpit - something most 3 year-olds can do without the histrionics.

I hope you are all ok Theo. We flooded once before and ended up with 5 inches of water in the house. My brother, sister and I all had to stay with family for a few days until we got new accommodation, but we lost everything from the downstairs and had to live in rented accommodation for months whilst the place was gutted and renovated. It was not a nice experience.

We are being besieged by animals. We let some land to a local farmer and his sheep escaped this morning onto the lane. So we had to get out there and coerce them back into the field - assisted by our labrador puppy who at 6 months is now officially a sheepdog I have decided. Spent the rest of the morning putting a new cat flap into the cottage door as my daughter has moved house into rented accommodation for the time being - so she asked us to foster her cats until she buys somewhere - so we now have 6: 3 of our own; 1 who adopted us and now 2 from my daughter

Read this in a hurry and wondered why you were putting a flat cap in your back door...to let Yorkie in when he visits?
