I don't understand why they didn't just get fans to pay first, then request that amount of tickets from Villa
Nice idea but if they couldn't satisfy the demand they would then be a nightmare scenario of having to refund supporters cash! What a mess and fiasco that would be and supporters would complain even more!
Hi westlake33, I was just wondering where you bought tickets in the villa end we didnt manage to get tickets in the away end so are going to book in the home end
Access to Refunds We will refund the cost of match tickets (not booking fees) if the ticket is returned to the consumer sales office not later than 24 hours prior to kick-off. FANTASTIC Aston Villa ! Lets see what the Town can do - going on the Villa website - looks like the Trinity higher tier will be shut, and the town fans are housed in the higher and lower Doug Ellis stand. Main issue with this, is Villa ( or Ipswich fans I suspsect ) have already bought tickets in this stand in the other blocks, so quite what Aston Villa could do about this remains to be seen. Either way, I will be at the game.
If we are allowed 'up to' 6400 then just set the limit at that? They can keep the first priority for members and release it for general sale after, but it would probably be a bit pointless because I doubt we would fill the full allocation.
We absolutely would fill the allocation and then some Its an easy journey from Suffolk and there are plenty of Town fans based in the Midlands so we would have no trouble in filling the whole of the away end.
This is an absolutely ridiculous situation. And this stinks of Clegg. I've defended Clegg/ME more than most but one thing in their tenure that riles me is matchday tickets they just don't have a clue and they're thinking is so short term it's ridiculous!! If it's true the club have done this and it's not really anything to do with Villa they really are stupid. All this we running a business malarky, decisions like this are why we will have less fans in the future, hence having less back. Imagine if it turns out to be a really good day and there are fans that couldn't get tickets, it's absurd, days like that are what football is all about. I think the club need to realise that they need to take the odd hit every now and again or more and more fans are just going to stay away!! As for that phone call, I would definitely complain!!
Clegg says they asked Villa for another 500 tickets, he thought that would satisfy demand... but Villa said no. What a shambles
what seems ridiculous is that they are saying that villa fans have bought tickets in the area which would have been allocated to us if we took 4,800. with it not going to be a sell out why would you sell tickets to villa fans in that area as it was always going to be likely we would ask for more! why clegg didn't say to aston villa that we might need a bigger allocation so leave a bit of room free i don't know.
Seems to me that Clegg's hands are clean on this and Aston Villa are the true Villians............ Anybody see what i did there....
any town fans without the game, just come in block R1 in the Villa end, tenner a ticket, right by the town fans ! SORTED
Well i think Lambert and his pals are being ****s . I dont think villa are that confident against us and reducing our away support can only be to their benefit . I cant remember what happens in this round if its a draw at theirs is there a replay at ours or will it be et and pens . Question is if it is drawn and replay on our turf , do we do the same to them about tickets or be big about it thoughts coyb
I don't quite understand why they gave you such a small allocation in the first place when they have such a big ground. Peterborough gave us 5050 tickets in a 15,000 capacity stadium, yet you don't get half that!
Originally we were given access to 6400 (as the rules say we are entitled to 15%) but we only took 2900 because the club would have to pay for any seats we are allocated but don't fill. Clegg then asked for an extra 500 but was refused.
