You will all of course know about the Schneider Trophy and Southampton's part in winning the Battle of Britain.

The Schneider Trophy was a race for seaplanes held in 1931 in the Solent, and was won by the Supermarine S.6B designed by R. J Mitchell, who later used it as a prototype for the Spitfire. There used to be a replica (possibly even the real thing) of the S.6B on the Royal Pier.

We live in one of the finest cities in the south of England with more history than York and some of you don't know any of it. That is a disgraceful shame.

Wenger is also French but has a German name...an enclave of people in France with German origins.

I think having the name Schneiderlin is the reason.

The "replica" is actually the real thing and is in the Solent Sky Museum, why not pop along, there is plenty more to see than that, including a real Spitfire and a genuine flying boat. Pop in a couple of hours before the match on Saturday, it's only a short walk away from St. Marys. http://www.spitfireonline.co.uk/

I too saw Morgan and Guly at tesco in ocean village a couple of hours after the Newcastle game buying a few bevvies..... Was gonna say something or ask them to sign something for my little boys, but then remembered that they are essentially muggles that can play football out to get some bevvies.... They looked like they wanted out pretty sharp-ish.....
