Fascinating as Mr Spock would say. Love stats, especially when they confirm how good we are. Our defence is superb and hopefully can continue the good work in the Championship. We score a lot as well, but it does make you wonder what would happen if those shots on target were put away. We had one big score, but I have to admit I'm surprised we didn't get more cricket scores. Thanks.
That's what happens when our team is super fit and plays to 95 min (as our Nigel says) and the opposition have been defending most of the match. It also explains why the fans now never give up believing.
nice article man! Nice to see once we entered the play off places, we never dipped back out. Shows a good consistency.
We had about 50 more shots than P'boro, who were the top scorers in the league with over 100 goals. So, a little bit like yesterday, if we had converted our chances a bit more clearly, along with starting the season stronger, we really could have romped to the title. Doesn't matter now, but side by side from October onwards with Brighton and we were ahead of them on all fronts.
Complete opposite a few seasons ago, even last season in-fact with the last gasp dropped points at Stockport and Millwall.
Posh scored a lot but also conceded, so we got the right balance. Start with a good defence, score a few goals and Bob's your uncle.
CBK ... Lovely thread...Stats speak for itself! As the chant goes "Thats why we're going up, they why we're going up"
Far better than we could have hoped for perhaps after the first 6 games. Adkins has done an absolutely amazing job. Even more amazing when you consider that in the last 14 games (won 12 drawn 1 lost 1) we were without Morgan and Oxo as well as Barnard and Lallana missing a few. It was a real squad effort.
mmmmm get the feeling either Saints or the press association have ripped off my thread... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2362315,00.html
