    ACS's View
We really need to win this game to gain a degree of traction going into the Christmas period. January is the time where teams seem to pick themselves up and kick on into a better second half of the season and I sincerely hope it's us rather than our competitors.

    Poll
I've included a poll once again to see what we feel the outcome will be on Saturday... me.... I'm going for a 2-1 Toon win.

    Travel
Just a reminder for those of you travelling up that, with it being Xmas and all of that, the traffic and therein paeking may be a nightmare.

I really am confident here chaps.
We've put in some good shifts of late so hopefully this is our time to finally get our season in gear.
Hoping for a 4-3-3 or similar from Pards.

Tiote and Willo are both one booking away from a one match ban by the way..

2-1 win and I also hope Pards goes with 4-3-3.
Hopefully Tiote wont get a card we need him against Man U and Arsenal.

But with a little luck, Williamson will pick up a booking.

Problem I have is that this bunch of players are not used to "must win" fixtures. When times have been averse, as of late, their response has been fairly awful. The performances through every competition have been, for the most part, abject. I don't know that things are going to turn around in this one - matches against Swansea and West Ham should have been easier than this - by contrast, I think everyone wants to take on the Toon right now, there's no fear nor is there the unknown. No-one's fussed about Cisse getting the ball, so they'll be able to take more time with Ba. And outside of these two, who's going to score?

Two of our worst players of the season will both be selected again - Willo and Jonas - which hampers both defence and attack. (on a side note, quite how Pards feels we needed ONE more senior player in the Summer is beyond me...)

On a positive note, Anita will be really looking forward to this one and I'd be very tempted to put Marveaux in a midfield three or on the right side of a front three.

Tiote vs Taraabt looks like it'll be pivotal, but with Cheick needing to reign it in to avoid a booking, this could be really worrying.

    My preferred team;

    Krul

    Simpson Perch Colo Santon

    Tiote
    Anita Bigirimana

    Marveaux Cisse Ba

I see a tight 2-1 win. Ba and Cisse.

As long as we win I don't much care how tight it is. Three points in the bag is the all important thing now.

Is Jonas one booking away from a ban also? I think this would normally be a guaranteed 3 points for us but we are under a lot of pressure at present and this will play a significant part. Would love to see an early goal and us settling into a rhythm.

I honestly think we'll batter them, so I'm going for 5-1.

Probably be 1-1, not confident in a win.

Think we'll edge the game by an odd goal.
