BBc "Breaking News" Section mentions that we should be signing Ince and Sturridge in the first few days of the transfer window.

    Heres a link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/20779766

Long and the short of it is that Sturridge will be £12m (cheaper than I thought we'd get him for) and Ince £6m. We have agreed terms with Neither.

Pleased to have Ince back, I always thought he looked promising, not really sure what he is going to bring to the side now though. We have a lot of youngsters that we need to keep happy.

Not massively excited about Sturridge, I've said in other posts what I think of him and I dont think he is what we need. I think he's good, dont get me wrong, but we need a Huntelaar IMO, but it could be that we cant attract someone like that.

What do you beautiful people reckon? Would you be happy if this was the extent of our spending in the January Sales, is anybody else wishing we'd look into some other leagues to find someone?

Do you think the Ince deal suggests that Sterling may be on his way...or at least they are covering themselves if he does?? Don't really see the point otherwise.

To be honest that thought had crossed my mind, it has gone strangely quiet on that front.

Think thye hype is making the lad seem better than he actually is, but I'd be gutted if he went.

Don't get you? Ince is midfield and Sterling a winger.

    What he said!!

Sterling should stay but it's the sad state of the modern footballer when you can hold your club to ransom because you've had a handful of good games. Ironically this is how we got Sturridge who done the same to City.

Sturridge would be a poor signing imo no matter how much we pay for him. Not excited at all at the thoughts of signing Ince but I will give them both a chance if they do sign as we are desperate for goals and Jan is a poor time to be signing players.

  10. As most of you are aware, I don't want us to sign Sturridge because I think he is over-priced, ball greedy and lazy with a poor attitude. However, for some reason I have a gut feeling that should he join he will bag plenty of goals and be a hit. I think this may be a matter of mind over heart

Where would Sterling go though? Never sell to utd. He would disappear at the chavs. City probably the same. Arsenal, maybe.

Hopefully he'll stay, but Arsenal maybe with Theo coming the other way?

I know Theo's not every bodies cuppa tea but it could well be possible

Sturridge, thanks but no thanks..Another average English striker, overhyped by producing medicority. Agree totally with Gerrez comments about him ball greedy, lazy with a piss poor attitude. Would prefer a Huntelaar type of player.

Tom Ince again i'm led to believe had "English Player Syndrome" i.e pith poor attitude combined with limited ability and over inflated ego. If he had anything about him, Kenny would have surely loaned him out instead of selling so cheaply.

  16. Not if he didn't know. The club want to keep him and are trying to agree and new deal so obviously Rodgers doesn't know either <ok>

  17. I think that is harsh, he clearly has something about him to turn down high level contracts (for his age category at the time) in favour of getting first team football. Not many players would do that nowadays <ok>

Everytime I watched Ince in the Reserves he played in the center as an attacking midfielder. Don't know where he's been playing since then though.

    Highly unlikely mate.

  20. How is it unlikely? No one other than Sterling (and his agent) knows what he is thinking or going to do. Unfortunately, if his contract expires then he is entitled to move on.

As i said higher up, I think a deal will be reached and he will stay at the club, just playing devil's advocate <ok>
