Used to drink in the Apples and Pears - down St. James's St - most of the time - but with frequent excursions to the Wellington and the Prince of Wales (by the Gas works)
and the odd trip down the Geen Man and of course rthe Beckett - far better experience then than it is now with all these 'sanitised pubs'

Sure you got tyhat right, TC? Looks like a piccie of the old Collen Bawn on the corner of St James' Road and Southwark Park Road, down the Blue.

Also, Grumpy, I remember the Apples and Pears opening. It didn't last long, but. Got full of spotty
youngsters who sat all night on a pot of lager and didn't do anything else. Do you remember the Prince Imperial or the Barkworth Arms? Good pint at each.

Brisbane can't say I remember them but I do remember the Colleen Bawn, forgot all about that one had many a pint in there, and TCs pic in definately not the Colleen Bawn - think it's the pub on corner of OKR and Ilderton road.
Was going down the Apples from about 1966 to 1971 (and I only popped out for a packet of ***s<laugh> good session tho) it was the original disco pub - great music and plenty of available and willing women<ok>
