Hello mate, I know you visit our board and as you will have seen, we are all buzzing with Wickham at the moment and he has been playing arguably better than Fletcher, when giving time recently. I for one have every faith in him.
I was one of the ones to give you the benefit of the doubt but I think the others had it right....you are a bit of a cock...
That history is usually based on the teams who pick up points early and then fade. We haven't done that. We will be 50:50, but I still fancy us ofr 16th or 17th. It'll be tight I agree, but don't write us off
We played well in some of our early games and definitely deserved the odd points for our playing style but deserved no points because of our naivety combined with no luck at all. The turning point was second half against Spurs...team came out at half time with a flea in their ear from Adkins and they deserved to at least get a draw. Although we are still only just out of bottom three, most Saints fans appear over-confident to outsiders because we like what we see on the playing field. Carry on in the same manner and get a bit of luck and we should be okay.
If you signed sufficient quality CB's in the summer, then why are all your fans saying you need at least 1 and possibly 2 more in January? Either Adkins mis-judged the quality of your defence, or you didn't put enough thought into defensive signings whilst dicking about with the Ramirez deal. Either way, it's pretty poor for such a "well run" club
Over the last 6 games, we have the joint best defence in the league having only conceeded 4 goals. If you look at what stands behind our first choice centrebacks it is pretty scary. Jos, everything that could go wrong for him did so, Martin and Seabourne have both been released on loan, personnally I would have more faith in either Turnbull or Stevens than Martin or Seabourne. So to answer your statement, Yoshi has done well, but if a top notch CB comes along then NA would be a fool not to sign him
Think this sums it up. We have no quality back up. Bound to get injuries or suspensions so we need at least ione if not two CB's.
thier season will be like the silly song they sing, blah blah blah then like dreams they fade and die. Why do they sing fore ever blowing bubbles anyway ?
I'll bow to Brooking otr Trixter or Brooking on this but West Ham historian, Brian Belton, has argued that Bubbles was sung as crowds gathered during air raids in shelters and underground stations in the East End during the Second World War. This led to a rise in communal singing by the general public to raise morale. According to Belton, the first time the song was reported to be sung by West Ham fans was during the 1940 League War Cup Final at Wembley. This was a game that the Irons won and maybe the fans took it as a good luck omen. Anyway, that appears to me to be the most logical reason why the fans sing âIâm Forever Blowing Bubblesâ at Upton Park.
Yes? I don't know why you think I've played a part in the argument between Trixter and you guys, the 2 posts on this thread haven't got anything to do with the Argument, 1 was a joke about Diame and the other was a tongue in cheek comment to Lamballana
Thats interesting so thanks for posting lamby - i have wondered in the past why the Hammers fans sing this. I dont think its daft, its as good as any other football songs. In the past I have never come across anti-West Ham comments from Saints fans like i see on here, or vice versa. We have usually had a pretty good rapport with them. I was at a lock-in at the Cannaught Arms pub outside the Royal Albert Dock in East London when West Ham beat Fulham in the 75 Cup Final and it was a great afternoon and evening - couldnt buy a drink in that area that night even though they knew i was a Saints fan. A feel that a lot of quite recent 'hostility' between teams fans has sprung up, maybe since the internet came into being and the advent of the keyboard warrior !
Plus, let's face it, you're clearly a Saints fan. No-one else would spend so much time on the Saints' forum unless they were a total, complete and utter twit. Vin
