AS someone that lives east of the River, moving to an upgraded Craven Park - is it April 1st already? The site is ****e, the facilities pitiful (and would require bulldozing) and even £6m spent on the North Stand is mainly about start up businesses.. worse still its down a road called Poorhouse Lane ffs!
You have to ask yourself though what plans the Allams actually have in place. Being devils advocate, the City Council had the money and the vision (well Pat Doyle did - even the Lib Dems scorned the idea) to build the KC, and just because the new owners want to develop in and around it (for what exactly, squash courts , swimming pool etc. or more accurately nothing definitive at this stage), Pappa expects the Council to hand it over for nothing. Whatever people think of the Council, that would not go down well with most of the Council tax payers of this City. Heads need banging together - Geraghty needs to be told to fook off by Brady interfering (difficult I know cos they've put him in 'charge' of Cultural matters!!) and Ehab needs to tell his old man to stop being an idiot as well.

No further details but as the land has been allocated for storage/industrial and housing meaning that an enquiry may be required for alternative uses such as a stadium/retail etc. Lets just hope that if it is its a bit more imaginative than the standard stadium/supermarket development. It would be nice right on the end of St Andrews Quay but there is not enough space and it would require direct access to the A63. Maybe nick a bit off the Humber for external access but parking would be disaster, although Hessle Station would provide good parking and the park and ride isn't far away. UPDATE: Having looked at what EIA Screening is it appears its to do with screening developments to provide protection to neighbours. Still be interested to see what the mixed use development is though!

Why not use the wasteland around St Andrews Quay? Demolish the Lord Line building and stick it there. Then its tecbically in Hull.
The Council should have sold the KC to the Allams ages ago .. If we move to Melton that's fine by me it's not the dark side of the moon ... Bigger stadium will = cheaper tickets as the Allams said months ago .. I trust the Allams 100% and always have done .. There plan is to get us into the premier league and get us established there .. I reckon we would fill a 36,000 Stadium IF that happens and no reason why it can't ... IMO
Can you imagine Clive Sully on matchdays particularly when the Highways Agency won't give direct access off the A63. The location of the KC, within towns and cities, is the future of all football grounds - they offer the opportunity to access the stadium via all modes of transport. Liverpool with a need for a 60k capacity stadium have sought either to develop Anfield or move a few hundred yards into Stanley Park. Everton fans were against moving to Kirkby outside the Liverpool boundary, even accepting the massive limitations of the Goodison Park site.
Now we know why he keeps a low profile - cos everytime he opens his mouth he causes controversy. Let the club do the talking on the pitch and keep Allam snr away from the microphones....
Was thinking the same - why not build it on a brownfield site, there's loads of em across the city - St Andrews Quay, Clough Road, all the rotting industrial buildings along the river from Sutton Road to Bankside - rather than whacking a new stadium on farm land? Does the Council own all these as well?
St.Andrews Quay isn't anywhere near big enough a site for a football stadium, even if the access was practical. And fancy proposing we knock down the Lord Line building, it's a ****ing great building and part of our heritage.
A large stadium just outside the city boundary, with a large retail park with the tenants paying rent to Hull City. Would suit fans who want to drop family off while going to the match. City won't be the first club to rely on this to bankroll the club.
Spot on Sir... Ehab is the future but clearly he has to back his Dad publicly at least.. Pappa comes from a totally different culture to ours (witness the untimely sacking and handling of NB), is not getting any younger and is clearly impatient to move to the next level. He is badly advised (if he takes advice at all) and needs to see us gain promotion to the PL and then look to put pressure on the politicians to further develop the KC.
Not a chance - next best choice though to the KC at the time sites were looked at for the then Superstadium project - would struggle to get planning/meet opposition from Anlaby Park residents. KC got planning so readily because it was so isolated relatively speaking in an urban environment..
To those suggesting St Andrews quay around The Lord line buildings, it's already going to be redeveloped into student accommodation. The planning application is submitted and being processed. It was in the daily fail a few weeks back.
I have to agree with Papa's sentiments, if the club is to have a sustainable future in the premiership then stadium revenue is key. However we are a long way away from being that club, this year's dreadful attendances show that even a 25,000 capacity won't be seriously tested in the championship. We need to do our talking on the pitch, get to the premiership and establish ourselves and then look at the problem again. Then it'll be a nice problem to have and if the backward council can't see sense we move on as a club to where ever that may be, knowing its the right thing for the clubs future.
Don't hold your breath. Getting planning and actually doing anything with the site are two completely different things when Mr Akrill is involved.
Bad day for our club. Brady and Geraghty are cut from the same ****ish cloth. Intellectual and cultural pygmies, stubborn as **** Ministry of No members. Allam is the type of wealthy capitalist they love to hate and enjoy thwarting, as do a large chunk of the Hull electorate who would see it as a 'victory' if Allam's plans to develop City got knocked back. Terminally bad negotiators on all sides, with everyone being the losers as positions get entrenched and rancour increases. If only we had someone involved who was more conciliatory and persuasive like Hull FC's Adam Pears......oh wait
Agree, can't see us going anywhere, it's all tactics, just as Melton was earlier. Mind you I would mind seeing some data showing where the fans have come from within the city and without. I expect the council did this during the KC planning stages, and put the ground exactly where it needed to be (at the time).
