This Can't quite believe how bad Tierney has become, as last year his link-up play with Pilks was excellent at times.
he was poor but to be fair to him, he is recovering from injury and hasn't played hardly at all in about a year! you don't just come straight in and play at the top of your game. fact is though, he isn't a patch on garrido.
I know it was his first game in ages, and everyone was a bit ring rusty that day (and the rest!) so I should probably cut him some slack, but his performance against Fulham on the opening day was without doubt the most inept one I have seen from a full-back in a very, very long time. It was unbelievable how many times they simply knocked the ball over his head and let the winger run through on goal - the worst part was that he didn't learn from it all game and still left him in acres of space even after they'd done the same thing for well over an hour. Honestly, I could have done a better job that day I hope he does find his form again because at the start of last season (and the promotion year of course) he was absolutely brilliant so we know what he's capable of
I think this year we have developed a prime first X1 whereas last year it was more squad rotation. The second X1 are some way behind the first in some areas and this is the area to strengthen in the window. Tierney I am afraid is one for sure.
