So I'm passing through Southampton on Saturday on my way to visit my parents for xmas and thought I'd stop by for the Sunderland match, only problem is I'll have a bag with me which I presume I won't be able to bring into the stadium. Apparently there are no left luggage facilities at the train station, so anyone of you locals know anywhere I could leave it for the duration of the match? Preferably near the station or between there and the ground.

    Thanks!

Depends how big it is...if not enormous and it will fit under seat you can take it into stadium. Happened to me and they just riffled through my undies at the gate :)biggrin:) and waved me in.

Walk into a hotel, tell them you checked out that morning but could you leave your bag and come back for it later on. Voila!

Obviously will cost, but to avoid lugging the case it can be delivered by parcel force/UPS. I met someone who always had the holiday luggage taken to and from their home to hotel abroad to save bothering at the airport. Just had to warn the hotel it was coming. Not cheap, but effortless and saves money if you expect to pay excess baggage.

Ha, might be worth a try!

I might be ok to take it in then as it's not too big. Small enough to take on a plane as hand-luggage so I might get away with it if the hotel idea doesn't work.

    Thanks guys.

Yeah they will be fine with that, I did see someone at the Reading game with what appeared to be their whole Christmas shopping.

Haha once we had bags with us, and at the pub we were drinking at asked the doorman if he knew anywhere we could put it.

He popped the bags in the boot of his car and gave them back to us after the game.

Seems fair enough, did they bother to check your box as well?

    Na.

I see why your bothered my my "antagonising comments" now, when its clear you would rather have a conversation about where to leave a suit case while you watch a football match.

Well I would rather talk about that than exchange views with someone as primitive as yourself, sure, but I think you've missed the point somewhat.

Strange that his mood has got worse now that his team is doing quite well. Shock perhaps:biggrin:
