steve bruce has a history of picking players from nowhere in countries such as honduras. maybe we should think total left field!
I wouldn't go as far to say he is raw, he's an experienced Football League player and at 27 is in his prime. He's also 6ft 3, so he'd make a great target man. I'd take a gamble on him if he wasn't going to cost too much money, but if he takes us up, would he be PL quality? People need to think a bit longer term here, you need buy players that are going to be able to hack it in the Premier League and loan the others for the short term. If Michael Laudrup isn't playing Danny Graham, it's probably because he isn't as good as Michu. Which he isn't. He is, however, a proven Championship goalscorer so yeah, if it' a loan, great. N.B. Just checked Graham's stats, he finished last season in double figures (12). He's also played 14 times this season, so I'd say he's featuring pretty regularly. Sorry, I lied, Laudrup has lost the plot. Sack him. Hang him from the Severn Bridge by his underpants.
this reminds me of being a kid again laid on the sofa with a copy of argos writing down my xmas list - Game of Life - was always at the top and i never got it Crossfire - i got it and my sister wasnt much fun to play against Ker-plunk - i got this one year too , i was mostly happy at the number of new marbles Downfall - this was on my sisters list and i remember it being a pain in the arse to play
We need to go out and really show our intent this window, and sign someone for a couple of million if we're really serious about promotion.
Call me picky, but a 29 year old who doesn't have that many league appearances for someone of his age, who has never played outside of the MLS and who has never scored in his 8 international appearances doesn't fill me with confidence.
Kane got injured first game of season, he however scored twice today for Norwich reserves and is there for the season. When he is fully fit it could free up Morrison? Not sure I fancy him though??
I can't see us signing Graham because he's their 2nd choice striker should something happen to Michu. Campbell is, and I'm pretty sure, a smokescreen to allow us to do some backroom negotiations without it hitting the media, allowing us to have less rivalry for another player's signature and a little cheaper as it's not in the media limelight. Wood, is a dodgy one, there's already the 'Udders, Miwaw and Leicester apparently making bids, and we can't be doing with an arms race. It'll just cause it to be a deadline day signing and we really want to sign somebody to use through January to make the most of them. I think we've got a surprise in store, and it's going to be interesting to see what happens and if Brucey can pull of a masterstroke.
What about N'gog from Bolton?? Tall quick and think Bolton would sell to get off wage bill. Can do it in prem, scored some crackers for Liverpool?
That wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't even put a 50p bet on him joining us. I like my chocolate bars too much... Doubt he'd take a big enough wage cut to come to us. He isn't that old and so will be looking to increase his wages IMO. He'll go to someone like Southampton/Reading/QPR etc, some lower reach EPL Club.
He is the record holder for goals in a single season in the mls. I watch him as he plays in San Jose and all the San Jose games are on tv here. He has never impressed me. He never looks skilled on the ball and he doesn't seem pacey. Yet just about every game I have watched he has scored. The only reason we could want him that I can see is almost all his goals that I saw were from headers. With our crossing I could see him possibly putting it into the net for us. He has said in the media that he would be interested in a move to Europe if an offer came in. Is this a real rumor? Here are all his goals from last year, he had 18 Here are all his goals from this year he had 27
Watched Liverpool U21's v Fulham last week and Fulham have an 18 year old striker called Cauley Woodrow. He is **** hot, a six foot goalscorer! Well worth a loan, even as backup.
If we sign anyone permanently they'll be vastly over-priced and that's a bitter pill the Allams might have to swallow. Selling clubs with a good striker will know promotion contenders will pay more now than in the summer and they'll take full advantage. Our best bet will be a good quality EPL striker on loan - maybe with a view to signing them permanently if we go up.
