I wouldn't even take him, well for the experience of the trip, but thats all. Carroll would be the only one we'll see I'd imagine in that capacity (2nd half sub). As for the ref, he will be a homer no doubt not wanting to upset the locals! nothing new there though, so we'll just have to put up with it, I'm not expecting any favours, English clubs rarely get that anyway.
There's a report on the bbc gossip column today saying Pritchard & Coulthirst, have caught the eye of Real & Barca, that's all we need, those two sniffing round our future stars, what makes it worse is our tie in with Real
Even IF that rumour is true and Real & Barca want the two, I'd be surprised if they made the move. Even though it's a dream for any footballer to move to teams like that, personally I think at their age they'd rather stay in England for the time being. I can't remember the last time a "promising" English youngster moved abroad and prospered from it.
Result from this afternoon's game is Sunderland 2 Spurs 1 (Ceballos). Scott Parker played the full 90 minutes.
Hi SC Lost to Sunderland!...thats not in the script! What about BAE, was he involved? or is he one too many over 21? is your inbox ok?
No sign of BAE there today. Team was - Vigoroux, Barthram, Stewart, Luongo, Hall, Veljkovic, Parrett, Scott Parker, Obika, Pritchard, Ceballos. The 3 subs used were Gallifuoco, Munns and Coulibaly.
Our group comes to a conclusion next Monday evening at Villa Park and it's all to play for. We top the group going into this game with 20 points from our 11 games. Manchester United have finished and also have 20 points but our goal difference is 18 to their 4. Aston Villa have 18 points so can win the group if they beat us. If Villa do this, then Man United will still proceed to the elite stage to start after Christmas, because their point tally guarantees them a place as one of the best 3rd place teams.
For the benefit of those of you who take an interest in this competition, the next stage (due to start in January), will once again see teams split into 3 groups, depending on the final position in their respective tables in the first stage. We are already guaranteed a place in the Elite Group, which will be made up of 8 teams, including those that finished first and second in the first stage gropus, the team that finishes third in the eight-team group and the best third-place team from group 2 and 3. This will be West Ham, Arsenal and West Brom from Group 1, Liverpool and Wolves from Group 3 and ourselves from Group 2. Manchester United are guaranteed at least the best third-place spot and Aston Villa need to get a point from the game with us this evening to take the remaining place. Should we beat Villa then Chelsea would get in ahead of Villa. Teams will play each other home and away during the second half of the season with games due to commence in January.
So if we win then we top the group and if we lose then Chelsea are eliminated? Nice to know that there's a silver lining!
Harry Kane returned from injury today for Norwich's U21 side, as they beat the Spammers 3-1. Scored twice, hit the post and won the penalty for the other goal. Comprehensive.
Vigouroux, Fredericks, Hall, Luongo, Barthram, Parker, Parrett, Falque, Mason, Townsend & Obika subs: Coulibaly, Priestley, Stewart & Gallifuoco COYS
In preparation for this evenings game and also to give him a sniff of the "big match" atmosphere, Vigoroux was involved in the goalkeeping pre-match warm up on the pitch yesterday afternoon.
Apparantly it's Tom Carroll alongside Scott Parker and not Dean Parrett. Currently 1-0 ahead through a Ryan Mason goal.
Scott Parker scores !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 up just before half time.
You watching it or just following Twitter like me? Credit to Townsend for starting the day after he played 20 odd minutes yesterday.
