Very nice comments from our red cousins, much appreciated Redprintt and Cidered abroad I voted for Harrold, bit before my time but I have all the literature about Rovers history and he was a great no doubt. Local lad too. He was caretaker manager for a time too if I'm not mistaken and played a bit of cricket.
Jarman followed after Georgie Petherbridge on the right wing. When Harold came into the side most opposition full backs new that one kick up the pants was enough to make sure Harold got rid of the ball before he was tackled. It took him quite a long time to mature into a decent player. George petherbridge was I believe a much better player.
Kenny Stephens was a realy good right winger. Harold Jarman played on the left and was excellent. The only other winger who I really rated was Muzzy Carayol.
The rest right winger we've had in my time watching us is probably David Pipe... We've not been blessed with great right wingers in the last 10 years!
I guess we're looking at Harold Jarman, Phil Purnell, Kenny Stephens,Mickey Barrett, Mark Walters and Muzzy Carayol then? How about another thread with a vote?
I will join our City fans and say, yep look know further than Harold, even though i'm a red hot city fan, saw him many, many times, a Rovers LEGEND
