Look no further than Zenit St. Petersburg. Back in 2010 Just recently " The slogan "There's no black in Zenit's colors" appeared on the bank of the Neva river in central St. Petersburg. It is about 10 meters long and clearly visible from the opposite bank." Crazy that, and that is real racism not this picking at things with Suarez,Terry, Clattenberg, etc. 2018 World Cup looks like it will be splendid for the African countries then...
Just came across it all today and think it is crazy! Same with the UEFA fine they gave Serbia, bentner got a higher fine for showing underwear. Then you got the prem losing it over the Suarez,Terry cases when it really doesn't compare at all to the real racism that is out there. Lazio is another club who seemed to just get away with it when they played Tottenham.
Well we know how serious UEFA and FIFA are about combatting racism mind you it wasn't so long ago a club not a million miles from us had a bit of a rep for being somewhat reluctant to sign black players...they'll know who they are.
Crazy to think you could go to a club like Zenit and say " Would you like to have a front two of Drogba and Eto'o with yay toure and Viera in your team?" and they would flat out say no. How did they sign Axel Witsel btw? I thought he was half black?
But at the same time you could argue that it is unfair that a player saying words (as harsh and unrespectful as they are) is more punishable than if one player was to punch another. The former gets a four match ban, the latter three!
The problem is Bluff it only takes a hardcore of fans to taint any clubs image.I've been to Eastern Europe a few times (not been to Russia in fairness) and the people are great but things like this are almost accepted as the norm, not everyone agrees with it but most just ignore it (as they used to in England).
Todays modern world is tomorrows dark age Mate it's still prevelant everywhere. Blame religion, blame human nature...or just blame Suarez.
