We were told that a D of F would be announced before the Exeter game......although at the time negotiations were on going.

One rumour suggested that Ward wanted more of a say in team selection.....which could be a problem for Fletcher.

Since yesterdays sacking of Bristol Rovers manager, Wards priorities might of changed from being a D of F..... to being a manager,he has strong connections from the past with Rovers.....let us wait and see........it would be an embarrassment for PAFC if they failed to get their man.

Why an embarrassment? It's easy to recruit anyone by giving them anything they want - that would be the real embarrassment and a sign of weakness.

All Brent has done is a Failure so far and could get worse.

Sounds like another clown with ward, let him go to Bristol as i don't think he will come here, or he may for easy money and watch from the terraces...

I keep in contact with a couple of Donny fans who tongue in cheek rub it in whats going on down here at the moment and the text I received from one of them yesterday regarding Ward is as follows:- He seems the man for the job going by the fact that Colchester sacked him for being ****e ..... think that says it all !

Sacked for a long run without a win.......he should fit in seamlessly here then.........that is as long as Bristol R don't entice him back there.

Ward is no good for this job, we need a Manager not another Fletcher! Might as well get Mariner back.

Boys and girls Fletcher isn't going. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is true and time everyone faced up to this nightmare. Whether Ward comes is another matter so watch this space is my advice. According to Gat he got 4 stars from Donny fans so if he was a hotel it would be decent quality. Hope Brent doesn't see that given his other business interests.

Forget all the manager and boardroom caper....just focus on the players we have left and gve them our total support...all we can do! A point at Exeter was ok considering our league positions at moment....never thought I would have said this years ago!

PAFC have announced that their intended target has withdrawn from negotiations......the reason is that he is persuing another position.

So if it is John Ward....he could be moving into the Bristol Rovers hot seat and becoming their new manager.

That could be the logical reason.......so Argyle have to start all over again......I still maintain that this is an embarrassing situation for PAFC and shows how low they have fallen in the pecking order of things.........how much lower can we sink.

Again, I can't see why you think this is embarrassing.

Why would someone from his background take a Director of Football job when he can get a full blown managership? Unless it was for any easy life of course.....

    Hello Pilgrims <ok>

Bristol Rovers are holding a press conference at 4pm today. According to all sources it will be to announce Ward as new manager contracted to the end of this season<ok>

Rovers are small fry in Bristol.......not a club with potential......although City are trying their hardest to get relegated as well.

I assume Ward applied for the Argyle post....the job was his for the taking.......hasn't he managed Rovers in the past........never go back it rarely works....ask Sturrock.

OK if you don't like embarressing notdistant.......lets change it to humiliating........we are becoming a very insignificant club.....having to scrap with the likes of little Exeter & Torquay and certainly below Yeovil in the pecking order, none ot their managers would swop to Argyle that is a fact.

PS Ward managed Rovers 1993/6.......and again at 4pm by the look of it.

With respect I have to disagree Plymborn. As long as we remain in the football league (which looks dodgy at present) we have a brand new state of the art stadium to look forward to in a few years. Coupled with a large support base all the ingredients are there. We're just plain **** at the moment.

    Humiliating is worse!

It's not the stature of the club, it's the nature of the job, rather like those who'd rather be the captain of a little ship than move to a desk job [or whatever analogy you prefer].

PS I wasn't suggesting Rovers are a "small ship", just that some like to be where the action is and I suspect there are a lot of them are in football. The dew on the grass in the morning... jumpers for goalposts... the smell of wet football socks......

Don't mention socks anywhere near Carl fletcher.......he has a copyright on that word notdistant.

OK...lets try again.....shaming,humbling,dergrading,disgracing,mortifying,disgraceful.ignominious and discomfiting....there you are..... my Franklin..... Chambers concise crossword Dictionary has no more options left......I hope one of those is acceptable....if not we're up the river without a paddle.......on second thought just like Argyle are.

None of those things Plymborn - it's life, that's all.

In fact, you could be positive about it - or I could anyway. It appears we had chosen someone with the ability still to manage a team. As it happens, we've been pipped at the post by someone offering a management job but that only proves it was a decent choice. Better that than he comes in for a short spell and is then persuaded away by an offer of unlimited supplies of Football Manager brand chewing gum and unnecessary pitch side isotonic drinks.

OK...Gas.......join the club......we've been promised a new Grandstand/Hotel/restuarant's complex.......we aren't playing to well at present either....on second thoughts multiply that by two relegations and five consecutive rubbish seasons and that would be nearer the mark.

When merchant bankers try to sell you a crap business, they tell you it has "tremendous upside potential".

So look at both clubs that way, tremendous upside potential, that's what we have. Man U don't have that, they're already there and all the poorer for it.

Poor old Man U no potential left....will it be all down hill for them........don't hold your breath too long notDistant waiting for us to pass them going in the other direction.

I tell you what........oh to be a supporter of Argyle as they score two goals in the last minute to beat Munich in 1999 to win the Champions League......but of course we were not quite there where we.
