Over the past few months, Rodgers has shown himself to be quite a ballsy manager. I still cannot see the purpose for playing Cole and Downing unless he's trying to put them in the shop window. Allen and Gerrard are weakening our midfield, and Shelvey doesn not add anything in attack.

I see the name of the ref was Swarbrick. Typical. It's all Swarbs' fault. Fu<king conspiracy <doh>

Because our squad is to small otherwise.

Cole has been better lately. I sense Rodgers may decide to have him for the season. He could be useful if he keeps chipping in with goals.

I would much rather use Sahin, Suso and Assaidi over Cole and Downing.

I actually thought Cole was decent when he came on, apart from the mistake that probably ultimately cost us the game, of course. <whistle>

Didn't see the game so I can't comment. If he did, then fair enough. But based on every performance since he has arrived, he is simply not good enough. People were singing his praises against West Ham but I thought he was terrible despite scoring a crucial goal.

One thing I noticed about our poor defending on Sat was that while Glen Johnson is great going forward the guy is a total liability in defence even against average team's, terrible defender.

I was a big critic of him earlier in the season but he seems to be playing well at the moment in defence and attack.

Bloody Villa fan in work waiting at my desk this morning. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

  19. I was a critic of Johnson's a year or so ago but I felt it was down to a lack of competition for his place, both with Liverpool and England. Since other players have stepped up and provided that much needed competition Glen has been superb IMO <ok>
