Yeah I have and I wasn't saying you're wrong but for whatever reason I always use the long old school version. I never say spelt for instance, just sounds not right in my head. Much prefer spelled.

    Just me I suppose.

Got a pint of Dark Lord in my hand. Nice too.

That bridge job should start end of Jan and I'm actively touting myself as the man for the job now. We've **** all else on so I quite fancy it now.

    In Hereford or Bridgnorth?

I've managed to resist temptation tonight.. Went for a couple of beers after work.. Calls were being made for Charles to come out and managed to literally drag myself away.. I'm now in bed watching 24.. Having eaten three cheese dogs.

Looks like I'll be putting together a Dolmio lasagne kit tonight! Bet that's good.

It was won in one of the kids school fayre tombolas so may as well put it to use, otherwise I'd make my own.

It's getting tense and hectic in our house, never has Christmas meant so much to one person (her).

I've told her, don't let the stress of it all ruin it, there's no bloody point. It's supposed to be joyous occasion, I'm not having Christmas ruined so she can out on a show for her family. I will simply drink steadily (and at times secretly) in the corner!!

I feel your pain. I've told mine to stop worrying about every little detail and her stressing is currently ruining it for everyone.

The only thing I don't like about Christmas is the pressure of making sure the kids are happy as all I hear is what their mates are getting- I've spent a ****ing fortune this year.

I just hate spending money on anything other than myself. I also hate the stress of attempting to buy thoughtful presents.

    C unts.

I think my eldests favourite present will be the moon bear adoption he and his brother have been bought by our kid. He'll love that, thinking he has a bear as a pet off in China.

Otherwise they are getting the usual amount of toys that will hardly ever get played with. My mother in law has bought them something that is an utter waste of money, bit pissed off actually as it's exactly the type of **** they no longer bother with or need. My girlfriend was very sheepish when she was telling me as she knows fine well it's a waste of time and money.

The kids love Christmas and as a result so do I, I refuse to let the stress of hosting it spoil it for them. I'd rather give them spaghetti hoops on toast, they wouldn't care.

Those Dolmio kits are pretty good, but you have to be careful with them. I've found the white sauce to be very thick, so you have to make sure the top layer of pasta is well covered with sauce or it won't cook properly. Also don't put the cheese on straight away as it will sit on top of the sauce and go completely brown. Stick it on with five minutes to go and it should crisp up nicely.

Dinner for me will be whatever we have left in the fridge / freezer that needs to be used up by the time we head south for the winter on Friday.

I won't see mine on the day. Enforced prison at their lovely mother's. I'll spend the day pleasuring myself <yikes>

Yeah, did the neccessary. It's not often they get beaten at home so it's been a great series, especially after the South Africa debacle.

    I have an embarrassing confession..

The chilli I made on Saturday, was made very hot. I ate a bit Saturday night without too much trouble. Froze the remainder.

Just had it tonight an was forced into mixing mayo with it. My lips are tingling and my tongue feels weird.

I did intend to make it hot but perhaps not this hot.

It had two teaspoons of hot chilli powder, two cayenne pepper, two dried chilli flakes, three fresh hot chillis.

Yeah, it would be hot. Should be managable though. That cayenne pepper is the bastard, too much of that and it's a nasty heat.

    Right, I'm going to do this;

    http://www.dryathlon.org.uk/

I know I'll fail but I'll have a go! New Years Day will have to **** off though, we always go out for a meal and I will have a drink. I'll start the bugger on the 2nd.

You get one free boozy night which will be on the 26th as we're off to see Oliver! in Bristol, which means I'l have to have a dry birthday the weekend before.

I have buckshee bloody chance of succeeding!

I don't think I could do it. Had two pints tonight after work.

That said I should have a go really and stop eating for the month.
