Suarez? Hardly a household name before we signed him.

I'd certainly heard if him, something to do with being chaired off a hero after being sent off in a worls cup match and the chewing the face of an opponent!

    Lovely fella.

Anyway, Rodgers is out of his dpeth. Said when he got the job and I also said it about the two former Swansea players he took with him. All three are out of their league.

And how the 'Pool fans laughed at me. Not laughing now are we?

He's making some truly bizarre statements and decisions, who in their right mind writes off a £35 million player of a club with tight finances, on practically their first day, without giving him a chance and then publicly states that a player so low on confidence that he is not wanted and can leave, then ****ing picks him out of position!!

Because he's really gonna perform for you under those circumstances isn't he you bell end?

He was a household name to anybody that paid attention to football outside of England, he had a huge reputation in Holland because of his prolific goal scoring record for Ajax (his diving and playacting was actually much worse over there too) and he was widely regarded as one of the national teams star players, so he was hardly undiscovered.

    Yeah, seriously.

In exactly the same way as Wafa was a genius for 'spotting' Torres and turning him into a goal scorer!

No one had heard of him either.

Good to PL standards. If they'd gotten players like Hernandez (£6m), Cabaye (£5m) and Valencia (£16m) instead of Borini (£10m), Henderson (£16m) and Downing (£20m) I'd warrant they'd be at least five or six points better off at this stage, and that would be enough for them to be challenging for fourth spot given how woeful Chelsea and Arsenal have been this season, and how slow Spurs were out the blocks.

But like you say, over the past decade or so Liverpool have shown no ability to find obscure talents, or to identify players at lower clubs who will benefit from the step up a la Valencia. They invariably end up either signing the obvious players and / or signing players who are doing well at other clubs, only to rapidly turn to dross as soon as they join Liverpool. And even if they signed a couple of RVPs, they would need the top four contenders to continue to play badly and inconsistently to even be in with a shout.

To be fair, they had Comolli for a portion of that which gave them no chance. It's kind of their own fault though because they should've seen what he did with us signing Bentley and all manner of other dross at big prices.

I don't know where they got the idea that they just needed a striker from, it's not as simple as "sign striker. score goals. get top 4". 4th simply isn't a realistic target, let alone 2nd. Then again just a few short weeks ago when we'd lost 4 out of our last 5 they were celebrating being just 2 points behind us and with a better goal difference, unfortunately the bunting's had to go away and the cake given to the dog as the party never really got going. As I pointed out at the time, Dembele's return would put us back in the race for top 4 and until they show that they can go on a winning run of 4/5 games they'll never be involved in competing for top 4.

    That much is obvious <ok>

Even I am surprised at the rapid downfall of the scousers. With Benitez, they were competitive and at one stage even had a shout at the title. But then they went downhill. Dogleaish was the one who accelerated it. I could not believe how bad his purchases were: Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Adam and on top of that they were bought at high costs and on high wages... The legacy would last several seasons...<ok>

The irony that is lost on many of their fans is that the manager who they really wanted and who the owners didn't want is the one who did the most lasting damage to them...

Ah, but they're creating lots of chances. And as everyone knows, lots of chances + striker = lots of goals. Just ask Borini, Cisse, Diouf, Keane, Morientes, Carroll, Voronin, Heskey, Baros, Kewell, Babel, Anelka and Ngog....

The most baffling purchase must be Carroll. How could any sane person value him at 35million? Can you imagine what a really good striker they could have bought for that price? Aguerro, Falcao, llorente, Gomez, Higuiain, Benzema to mention just a few....

"creating chances" + "hitting the posts record number of times" = very good team. This is what deluded scousers were saying under dogleash before. <ok>

    Don't believe you.

Rodgers is the bell end by the way, not yourself.

    Although sometimes...................
