So Gasheads we head into the Christmas fixtures minus manager Mark Mcghee who has now departed us so will we have a new man at the helm or will we see out the rest of the year under caretaker control? Anyway like I said this time of the year is important for all clubs and for us is no different as we sit 2nd from bottom of the entire football league with four fixtures coming up there's a possible twelve points up for grabs with tough fixtures against promotion chasing Rotherham United and our local rivals from up the road in Cheltenham Town we also see two clashes with two teams doing there best to move away from the drop zone to the dreaded land of non-league football its quite tight at the bottom so fixtures against are fellow strugglers are seen as six pointers. This thread is souly for the purpose of our four fixtures over the festive season I felt it would be easier and less time consuming (as everyone is busy this time of year even Chris ) if I put all four matches on one thread and of course still with the poll. So here's the schedule for the Christmas period. Rotherham United - Home - Saturday 22nd December. Aldershot Town - Away - Wednesday 26th December Cheltenham Town - Away - Saturday 29th December Plymouth Argyle - Home - Tuesday 1st January So how will it go in these four fixtures use the poll at the top as normal this time there's twelve option so pick and vote how many points we will take from the twelve available. without reading your post, all i looked at was the 4 opponents and i thought aldershot and plymouth are a must win games. rotherham and cheltenham will be tough games which i doubt we will get anything from. so i picked 6 points as a must minimum. then i seen you copied me rotherham result will be decided how the players want to react to MM sacking. will they up their game as potential new manager looking on. or will they play ****e to show everyone they aint happy about MM getting sacked.
Thanks well as we have 4 games in 10 games just make's it a bit easier but I think I should of ended the poll on friday 21st of December instead of the 31st as some people may cheat which I didn't think off at the time.
I think we'll beat Plymouth and nick a couple of points from the other games. But it really depends on whether the person in charge gets the right settled line-up and plays people in the right positions and keeps the tactics simple.
5 points I reckon. Knowing us we'll take points from Rotherham and get thrashed by Plymouth and the Shots
Hopefully Ward will enjoy a great start. I hope Ward gets the very best out of Eliot Richards because I've always thought he's one of our best prospects for years and I can't help thinking he hasn't been well managed this year. In the right position, with the right support he's a 20 goals per season player for sure. We need a lot more pace at the back, too. Kenneth's a great leader and a great player at this level, but he needs to be surrounded by a few pacey players - Michael Smith, Lee Brown, Tom Parkes,Danny Woodards and Matty Lund all have that pace. In my opinion Paterson and Virgo should only come into the reckoning if Kenneth's unable to play. When Bolger's back, we've got good strength in depth across the back line. I think we should try to hang onto Wayne Brown. He's a livewire who's a good impact player. But we definitely need more experience in the middle of the park. Above all, a settled side would be very good!!
plymouth game should be interesting now with ward verbally agreeing to be their DOF but then join us instead.
Aldershot and Plymouth are must win games we're not expected to beat Rotherham and Cheltenham so I think 6pst are achievable.
Barnet's festive fixtures. Burton Albion H Friday 21st December Gillingam A 26th December Exteter A 28th December Aldershot H 1st January AFC Wimbledon's Fixtures Port Vale A 22nd December Northampton H 26th December Oxford United H 29th December Torquay A 1st January
'I hope Ward gets the very best out of Eliot Richards' I too am hoping that he can do this. Ward was a similar sort of striker with a good record....282 games - 100 goals. He might get the best out of Elliot.
Well with all this rain I wonder if the game will be in danger of being called off. http://uk.weather.com/weather/10day-UKXX0076?cm_ven=yahoo_uk&cm_cat=citypage&cm_ite=weather&cm_pla=10day
