Just over the line.. That's fair enough, I said earlier let the FA deal with it. My problem was.. you asked about Huth standing on Suarez, WHY? when IF you had looked back to previous threads on this board. You would have seen how we ALL slated HUTH for what he did. I hope this is now end of debate. Good luck for the rest, you have a very good team, a great Manager!
Fellaini has been over using his elbows since he came to the premier league. I'm just surprised it has taken this long to expose him!
Thing is Waddo, I'm sure he's already been exposed! A few times in previous seasons I've seen him get away with a fair few elbows, it's been briefly highlighted, he's been a good boy for a couple of weeks, and all is forgotten about. Can't complain too much mind, Huth can be the same at times. I love a good physical game, but there's no need for stamping, nutting etc. I've been arrested for less!
How isn't that a penalty? is it any surprise that Fellaini lashed out with Shawcross wrapped around him all game?
Shogun all defenders do that these days it's sadly part of the modern game. But not all forwards headbutt and elbow in retaliation!
Shogun Do you have PROOF that he was "holding his shirt all game"? Sorry But that bollocks mate.. BOTH player's we're at it. It HAPPENS every week in every game of football. Felliani lost it big time. Your argument is embarassing. And I suppose the FACT that Jelovic PLAYED on and took at shot at goal, whilst Shawcross was layed out is FAIR PLAY too is it? And lest you forget to note down the FACT that Jelavic was also having a go at Huth and visa versa. Our player's Give it and yep Huth and Shawcross can take it.. As do most Centre halfs. So don't post such a one sided comment and then throw a hissy fit when someone proves you wrong Shogun. The FACT that Felliani has said, I got FRUSTRATED isn't an excuse for sticking your'e elbow into someone's face twice then headbutting him. If you think shirt pulling is something that's only done by STOKE player's you must be thicker than two short one's. So the next time someone holds Felliani's shirt will he SMACK them too?
Having watched the video of Fellaini elbowing Michael Turner above, all I can say is that he needs to be banned for a lengthy spell to get this side of him out of his game!
I trust your moral outrage will be the same, the next time one of your yard dog back line, stamps on the opposition?
Right guys MOD time! This needs to be toned down because slating each others past and becoming either defensive or aggressive in pursuit of proving a point is not really a debate - its more of an argument/slanging match. Lets all tone it down and play happy families - its CHRISTMAS! For whats its worth, my take on the situation is as follows; The fellaini incident was frankly unexceptable and shows what can happen in the heat of the moment when a players mental state is pushed. As a club we have the right to be upset that the incident happened in the first place and that he was unpunished at the time - which we would argue potentially affected the final outcome of the game. But comparing previous incidents is a futile exercise, we might aswell have a debate on serial killers etc...... For me it appears that most Everton fans have held their hands up - as do pretty much all of the Stoke Fans (certainly on this board) when one of our players have been involved in similar disciplinary incidents - most of which are dealt with correctly at the time. I dont see the point in digging out historical evidence to prove any team is less/more inclined to defend their team than the other, I believe it has no bearing on a single moment of madness in another game. If we carry on going back we can end up talking about the likes of Viera, Keane - what the heck - Chopper Harris? As a Stoke fan I would like to make a point to any outside club supporter. I dont think we hold ourselves as whiter than white and we often comment on our physical game sometimes being uneccessary or not within the spirit of the game - we are the first to see our own faults. What pushes us to retaliate and defend, is that a combination of the press and external clubs (mention no names!!) appear to almost glorify us as pantomime villains when the incosistency of the coverage for other similair performances are merely brushed under the carpet. Unless you have attended most of our games you wouldnt understand the frustration we have as fans when other players from other clubs have been overtly viscious and arguably in somecases been intent on causing injury, yet have gone unpunished. Consistency is the key yet it rarely gets implemented under the FA!
Have to say that both Shawcross and Pullis have risen in my estimation following their restrained and professional reaction to Fellani going in with his head twice, and throwing both an elbow and a punch. Fellani desrves a hefty ban. All the posts on this thread about Stoke being no angels are irrelevant and absolutely no excuse for fellani's behaviour. If Shawcross had butted Fellani I would like to think that all right-minded Stoke fans would condemn him. Also fair play to Moyse for not doing a Wenger.

Well said Smithers, Looks like he's getting a three game ban, which is fair enough, the authorities have judged. Onto the next game Ryan will be up against Defoe, do you think some form of knee padding will be called for?
