Ive had this conversation many times with my mates and I think that if we did sell Tiote we already have a player who would do a job there.....

    Not Anita....
    Not Jonas......

Its Coloccini. Yes I know we don't have defensive cover but I honestly think he would be a cracking DM. He can pass, tackle and his positional sense is brilliant. OFC we would need 2 defenders to come in but....
The point of the topic is what players do we have that we think could do a job in another position.

    Discuss!!!

Not sure on this one, he's not quick enough to play in this position for me. At the back he can read the game because he can view the whole pitch, he also has more time on the ball playing at CB. I remember Colo playing DM against City a couple years ago and he was frighteningly poor.

Defo not for me, centre half and a very very good one despite recent lapses. Best place for your skip too, sees the whole game picture.

I remember him playing in midfield 2 years ago away to villa! He was as bad as Nile Ranger was that day

As has been mentioned, he's played there a couples of times and has been absolutley shocking

This has been discussed before, and regardless of what people think, Coloccini should not be played as a DM. He's played there a few times before, and been terrible.

He should continue to be a CB, and come forward when we need him to.

Would anyone consider swapping Santon for Jonas?

If we had a left back then maybe (Fergie can't play there, Jonas just needs to come out, Raylor fecked). Ideally though I want Santon in his natural role on the right. He is unsure defensively on the left which is understandable (Jonas has similar problems there). Can't pick where the runners are. I'd like to see a left back at some stage just to give us some balance. I think we should forget Debuchy. Maybe look at the loan market in January because centre back and left wing/forward would be my two January signings.

Santon does seem to bomb past Jonas most of the time, making the latter pointless... Probably prefer we dropped Jonas and added another CM because it'd probably be better, even if it isn't a symmetrical line-up. Anita doesn't play strict MR anyway, so it'd probably balance the side better if we have Marv playing closer to central in a narrow midfield <ok>

Remie Streete is supposed to be fit and he's a useful young defender, could be a chance for him to show us what he can do. Seems Pards thinks highly of him.

Is he finally fit? Yippee. The lads who I know who go to watch the reserves (now 21s) reckon he is a future star and say he was gonna be ready this year. They were very impressed by him last year, an imposing young man. Obviously this problem he had dragged on. He won the Jack Hixon award too.

We'll still need another centre back though but maybe no need for the two some suggest.
