I would still like to see CMS at CR, played in the right position I am so sure he will get 10+ a season in the top flight which would be a fair return. Still has a good few years in him too I still believe we need something different to what we already have as back up for GH.

Surely Bridcutt is surplus to requirements now we have Tettey.
Unless he'd be back in as up to Tettey/Jonners?

Bridcutt is a terrific player, linked here when Lambert was in charge and the majority of us were wanting him here as we were crying out for a player like him. Now we've got him in tettey, that doesnt mean we still can't go for him and I would say as good as he has been for us bridcutt is probably better than Johnson.

My opinion is that we have enough midfielders already and would put any available funds in a pot to get a striker in, be it from these shores or abroad. Though I wouldnt begrudge the 2 mentioned above moving here<ok>

    yes please to both <ok>

bridcutt is a superb player, very promising and must be itching for a shot in the top flight now - he does all the stuff johnson does but passes like david fox, while people who don't rate mackail smith don't watch him often - as i often describe him, he's the 'pocket holt', that's all i'm going to say.

Player of the season last season at brighton, not bad for a DM and says a lot about how good he is <ok>

I have admired how much better Johnson has been this season, the frustration for me is his distribution; this is something that Bridcutt would add. Bridcutt and Tetty as a central midfield would provide opportunities and flexibility in formations, there would be more creativity. if signed, my expectations would be high.

I'd take both happily. We are doing brilliantly BUT it would only take Holt and Tetty to get injured and the squad would start to look a bit thin.

Wouldn't mind either, but I'm sure these are players Lambert wanted...?

no. they are players our club wanted. that's how things work more often than not. our scouting network are keen on the players and the manager gets his view from there. that's why we still went after snodgrass when lambert left.

I'm pretty sure we had a bid accepted for CMS but talks broke down due to the fact Brighton couldn't find a replacement!

I reckon we could nab the 2 for around £4-4.5 mil as Bridcutt has only 6months left on his contract and its mid season <ok>

Bridcutt - Yes, young and bags of potential (even more so than Johnson at the same stage when we signed him). Adds competition to the DM ranks, which can only ever be a good thing. Would mean that:

DM - Tettey, Johnson, Bridcutt (3)
CM - Fox, Howson, Surman (3)
    AM - Hoolahan, Butterfield (2 + Howson)
    Wing - Pilkington, Snodgrass, E. Bennett (3 + Surman)

    ---

Personally, i would like to see us sign Kane permanently, as I believe that he will develop into a PL star and also, essential PLEASE, sign Garrido on permanent contract (I would happily see our budget remainder spent to secure him!)
