It's not even so much who, but what exactly would change and how. Anybody coming in would have to work with the same players, be subject to the same conditions that the board dictate and be expected to make instant improvement. I hear people saying non specific things like 'he'll motivate the players' 'shake things up' 'give them a kick up the arse' 'improve our tactics' but there's never an explanation of what this actually means in practical terms and how it would work.

Yay, oxocube's here with his terribly blinkered world view. Hard to see clearly when your head is so far up Wenger's arsene.

Mate, that just sounds like a complete shot in the dark.

If we lose tomorrow, I expect an apology. If we win, I'll apologise.

You only need to look at other recent examples to know how wrong that statement is.

QPR sacking Warnock - made no difference at all; infact they probably have more overpaid players who are harder to shift than when Warnock was there!

Wolves - sacked big Mick and were still relegated and got worse

Sunderland - sacked Bruce and a year later are in the excat same situation, possibly with a poorer squad with the exception of Fletcher

Liverpool - sacked Benitez for finishing 7th and yet have finished higher only once since; ironically with five fewer points than Rafa's last season, and financially have wasted heaps since.

Chelsea - sacked AVB who was trying to overhaul an ageing squad and now are in the same position they were. Whilst AVB is doing pretty well at Spurs, yes they won the champs league and FA cup. But are they better?

Its does not take long to destroy years of work, you could give Bould a go and see some improvement. Perhaps finish 4th and look as if things are going well, only to find a year later it was an honeymoon period and the signings he has made are absolute rubbish. Look at Hodgson at Liverpool for how quickly one man can cause so much negativity and bring in so many poor players. I would urge you to be careful what you wish for!

I'm sorry but instead of just saying sack him, list some feasible and logical names. Describe how you expect him to change things around instead of saying "anyone else can be an improvement" and quit the childish insults then maybe I'd take your argument seriously.

Well I don't agree with that fella <ok> so you might be waiting a while.

My personal opinion on this whole matter is that whilst not faultless, Wenger is still the best placed person to get us back on track this season. And if the board give him the money in Jan and the summer, then he's still one of the most desirable managers to play for in Europe, so we can attract the quality of players that we need.

The Chelsea one is debatable. I'd say sacking Di Matteo was far worse than sacking AVB.

Yeah that was the flimsiest one admittedly  But the point is that they are still searching for a new manager, and there still needs to be massive changes made.

Those scenario's have no bearing on us. Most of the teams listed were either not good enough, or needed an overhaul. QPR and Wolves suck, Liverpool are in transition, same as Chelsea. We actually have a good team, we need 2-3 more players and a better manager to compete again. Hodgson was never going to succeed with you lot, you all wanted Kenny, and Boas was out of his depth and not respected by his players.

Bouldy is a club legend, we'd back him, and the players would respect him. We saw at the start of the season when he was allowed to work on the defence the effect he had. He has the luxury of not needing to sign a billion players to improve things as well.

How many quality managers have been sacked over the last few seasons in club's attempts to wave a magic wand and hope for the best ?

    Ancolotti
    Huddink
    AVB
    Di Mateo
    Benitez at Liverpool
    Bruce at Sunderland
MON when he was at Villa
    Warnock at QPR
Even Redknapp was decent at Spurs.

    OK.

    1. Steve Bould. Did a good job with the defence until Wenger stripped him of his powers. That would re a realistic short term option
    2. David Moyes. The scottish Wenger, but more flexible tactically.
    3. Pep Guardiola. I don't want him, but he is a realistic option. We all know what he would bring. Diving and cheating.
    4. Jurgen Klopp. My favourite option, Dortmund having a shaky season, but he's proven he's a winner. Basically the new Wenger, but again, more flexible, far less stubborn.

Mate, Steve Bould said himself that he was really nervous when he had to take the reins for the CL games when Wenger was banned. There's no way he's ready to take over at Arsenal - it would be a an almost negligent piece of risk taking replacing Wenger with him.

    1. Wenger didn't strip Bould of his powers. Those are BS newspaper rumors.
    2. Moyes is alright, but would he be able to handle the very top level?
    3. Guardiola is unproven when not given a team of superstars.
    4. Would Klopp want to leave Dortmund?

    1. Sacking Carlo was insane. I'd have him here.
    2. Hiddink was only a temp, it was his own decision.
    3. AVB is a poor manager, he was out of his depth at Chelsea
    4. Don't understand the Di Matteo sacking.
    5. Benitez was becoming like Wenger is now, it made sense at the time. They didn't give Woy a chance.
    6. Steve Bruce is a poor manager. How he even managed a PL side is a miracle.
    7. MON resigned over transfer funds. he wasn't sacked.
    8. Warnock is a championship manager.
    9. Arry took his eye (the working non twitchy one) off the ball, looked at England, and got sacked for it.

With how short tempered German teams are, i reckon Klopp will probably get fired soon. They were on the verge of sacking him last season apparently, then Dortmund went on an insane unbeaten run and retained their crown.

Sacking him would be their loss, our gain.

People can suprise you. Though he blew the Schalke game in almost Wenger-ish fashion, i thought he did a nice job against Olympiakos and Montpellier. He managed the team well.
