6 foot 5 inch, 18 stone ex military police, blue eyes and light brown hair and who plays him in the film? Tom ****ing Cruise!!! hollywood is full of **** man...
Precisely why I refuse to go and see it. The Lee Child books would be forever spoiled An American Dolph Lundgren is how I always pictured Reacher
Can't agree more... Well except for the dolph lungren bit. In my head he was a cross between Geoff Capes and Martin Johnson
The book which the film is based on was the first Reacher novel I read.. Is also the best of them all.
Have to disagree, my favourite was either Gone Tomorrow, Die Trying or Tripwire. Come to think of it Killing Floor, Bad Luck and Trouble and The Enemy were unputdownable too <cantmakemymindup>
Given that they're all pretty much the same, I don't know how you can choose a 'best' one. I see they've cancelled the premiere of the film in America because of that shooting yesterday.
I know why you would say that George but the same charge could be levelled at most authors; Robert Ludlum and John Grisham come to mind. I might get bored of the formula eventually (A Wanted Man is probably his weakest effort to date) but in the meantime I'll continue to enjoy the magic
I enjoy his style writing. He builds the story really well and leaves each chapter on a cliffhanger so you have to carry on reading.. Re the myron books, I've always felt they'd transfer to the screen well, love win in them too.
Must admit I haven't read any Harlan Coben books though I am open to suggestions on the first one I should pick up. Michael Connelly anyone?
read all his books apart from the last one which i should be getting for a xmas prezzy. great writer.
In terms of Harlan Coben, funnily enough, I have a copy of 'Play Dead' in the house at the moment. In the introduction he says, 'If this is the first of my books you're going to read, put it back and choose another. It's the first book I ever wrote and there's a lot of mistakes in it.' As far as the Myron Bolitar books go, it doesn't really matter which order you read them in. He does a quick recap on all the main recurring characters in every book anyway. I like Michael Connelly's stuff too. I haven't read The Drop or The Black Box yet but, apart from those 2, I'm pretty much up to date.
I read that on holiday this year. It's good to read can't say I even noticed the mistakes. With the bolitar books I'd recommend reading them in order.
Harlan Coben is ok...Tell No One being a fine novel and fine movie (in French) R J Ellory - A quiet belief in angels, is one of my favourite books ever Get yourselves into James Elroy too
I'd recommend Dennis Lehane and John Connolly aswell, both decent enough and some decent films came out of both of their books.I'm reading Lehane's latest 'Live By Night',it's not bad easy enough read
