Switzerland has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the world, with 45.7 guns per 100 residents (ranking below only the United States, Serbia, and Yemen but in Switzerland "the gun crime rate is so low that statistics are not even kept."
You get worse with every post, exactly how many children do you think starved to death in England this year?
think about it thick ****.. USA has close to 1/2 billion ppl the UK has 60 million USA has say 6 times population and 5.5 times the murder rate so the murder rate of UK as a % is higher wiki can be edited by members of the public
I thought I already had. We may not be perfect, in fact we're certainly not, but we don't have to worry about our kids being blown away half way through double history. Which was the point being made.
not according to the published statistics it isn't. I agree about Wiki. Here's some others a quick google throws up. http://chartsbin.com/view/1454 http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/oct/10/world-murder-rate-unodc Seems to be similar numbers.
they may not die straight away but their lifespan is shortened. Or doesnt that thought penetrate your skull?
Perhaps you could take the trouble to re-read the thread? My point was that plenty of people in the UK identify obvious flaws in the USA in a facile way, yet seem blind to the many defects in our way of life that strike Americans as absurd and easily rectified with a bit of concerted will power. It wasn't really a pissing contest about 'how many deaths' as that would have been silly and childish. But then you surely knew that. ....didn't you?
Back to school, the population in the US is 315m, the UK population is 62m. Dutch has already advised the murder rates, we're not even in the same ball park(to us a US term).
1 word.................. Dunblane oh I forgot, Dunblane is in Scotland, seperate country - doesnt count
The life expectancy of many people on death row in America is higher than it would have been if they'd stayed in their home neighbourhood.
I've read the thread, I accept that all in the UK is not perfect, but we don't have kids blowing away other kids. That was point being made in this thread and it remains true, however facile you think that fact is. I suspect you have no kids, a least I hope not.
Congratulations, you went back sixteen years and found the only school shooting in British history. Now, would you like me to list all the school shootings in the US in the past 16 years, or would you rather **** off before you look a complete ****?
Phew ! Take some time out buddy! Good job you don't have access to firearms and confine yourself to abusing people from your keyboard!
