It's a little concerning when our passing game seems to have gone to pot lately, so we seem lucky to get a point today..and as long as we keep being lucky, we can give ourselves a chance to improve. I watched the highlights (or as much as the Football League Show could be bothered with) and there's no way that was a penalty..the ref should have booked the Burnley player for diving imho! Still, another point...shame about Deeney's scoring run, but he can start again next week
This should prove that Gibbs lost his head. The ball is not on the spot and Almunia has a right to tell him that. In fact if Gibbs was doing his job he would have seen that when Austin re-spotted the ball he actually moved it off the spot. So it was Austin who delayed the penalty, not Almunia.
That was so obvious on the FL show - have no idea why it wasn't mentioned. Can yellow cards be appealed?
It wasnt mentioned because we are little old watford and there were bigger things to discuss. And no, a yellow card cannot be appealed. Only a straight red.
Dyche said: “I have seen it again and it was a penalty. I was disappointed not to have a second penalty in the second half if I am honest, which seems like a clear handball [against Marco Cassetti] – I have had a look and I don’t know how it is not given"
See I think it depends on who the ref is. The is negligible contact and Austin made the most of it. We were slaughtered for it at Huddersfield, something needs to be done about it.
What he really means is the second penalty could have been taken from even further off the spot than the first, Almunia could have been given a second yellow and then be sent off for having the unmitigated cheek to complain about Austen's cheating. Perhaps he has something in common with a lot of refs and needs to revisit the rule book? Did anyone else think that Wolves were hard done by with the penalty awarded against them at Boro? A reflex action to flinch and turn away from a ball kicked at speed IMO.
SO predictable, and just a little boring. Results not quite going our way at the moment....opponents not being sent off, no penalty awarded for a few games....who to blame ? Oh the good old excuse THE REFEREE !! While at it,lets drag out the old 'Little Watford' for an airing (as opposed to the big & mighty BURNLEY ??). You might have an inferiority complex about the club matey, not me,or some others I suspect, so do TRY to refrain from speaking for everybody.
Sorry if yer still smarting re Stilton Boltons. Not an odd comment, just intended to be general...just take a little look back at rather a lot of previous utterances starring the 'WE' word.
Another odd comment - I'm not smarting re Stilton, why would I be when I was right? As for your first odd comment, it was aimed at Dan's most recent post, so I'm not sure why you now expect anyone to scroll through his previous ones in order to understand it. I suspect that you simply misunderstood his use of the word 'We'.
Me again ! and with yet ANOTHER odd comment. If it seems pretty certain the Cheese is/was not made in Cambs-qualifies it to be HOME Of The Cheese ?? maybe not quite eh ? Nobody should actually need to scroll through previous offerings from Mr Dan-unless they have rather poor memories. Think yer a little too jovial generally for me,so I'll say over & odd....sorry OUT.
what i'm not sure about is how many yellows Almunia is on...anyone know? I know he's picked up at least a couple for time wasting...the last thing we need is to lose him to a 5th yellow, especially as this one was so blinkin' ridiculous!
