quite honestly, if it were a tie between all 12 nominees i would be very happy. all are far better than nearly all winners in the last few years. who remembers Giggs being given it for absolutely nothing. having said that, Wiggo will probably win.

Only thing with that is tennis, TDF and golf happen all year every year.
I believe an Olympic athlete will win as only every four years. Just my opinion.

But how often does a brit win the TDF or a grand slam in tennis! Compared to how many brits win at the olympics. Both Murray and wiggo won gold plus majors in there respective sports thats why they deserve it...

i think what murray and wiggins achieved this year has probably been a far greater achievement than any of the olympians and would definitely have to be in my top 3. i just love mo farrah!

David weir all day. 4 golds including marathon, 6 london marathons in a row, holds every british track record and half and full marathons. It would be a fitting climax to an exceptional career.

For the record I think Bradley Wiggens will win, but for me this is mind numbing television. The Beeb love to big this up, probably because these days they do not have much in the way of live sport. A lot of backslapping, showing repeats of what happened a few months ago, it harks back to the fifties era. Mr Cholmondley Warner, Brylcreem, and dodgy black and white television, thanks, but no thanks.

Has to be Bradley Wiggins. The others have all achieved great things, but Wiggins dwarfs them all IMO in terms of both achievement and personality!

Think Andy Murray or Bradley Wiggins for me, purely based on they've achieved something else as well as a gold medal. But any of them could win and probably we a worthy winner. Would be great if Weir won it.

Think it should be Bradley Wiggins or Andy Murray, but got a feeling will be Jessica Ennis or Mo Farrah.

    Wiggo for me.
I'll be disappointed if it's Jessica Ennis - fantastic athlete, but a single gold medal, so for me her achievement doesn't come close to someone like Chris Hoy or Ben Ainslie.
