This is all I want for this season. In a period of transition having lost Drogba - who I believe ranks as one of the top 3 best CF's in the PL era - it was always going to take time to adjust. We've got the all the pieces to the jigsaw but just don't know where to fit them. In 07/08 we almost won the Quadruple (or at least the Treble) without a manager but we had genuine characters that could take a game by the scruff of a neck back then, what we have now is style and no substance. Take the Manchester clubs out the equation and I still believe we are the best of the rest by a mile, we've got a favourable run in: Villa (H), Norwich (A), Everton (A), QPR (H), Stoke (A) before we play Arsenal. Everton will be without Fellaini which is a huge plus. - Get Top 4 - Get Torres and Benitez out the club over the Summer - Get a proper manager - Get the fans on side and some pride back into this football club With Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham etc at home in 2013 we could really do with a good, positive, vibrant atmosphere.
Well, it's not a rebuild that's necessary, just tweaking. There aren't many positions needing attention. I would definitely bring in a striker or two, and possibly a midfielder, however, we have some great talent on loan. De Bruyne can play CM, and McEachran surely will be a fine player, though maybe still needs more time. One thing I will say is that the 4-2-3-1 isn't cutting it in my opinion.
I have no doubt--even with Safa we'll be contesting the title with the Mancs! As for the summer , I haven't given up on Guardiolas yet!
Won on a budget. A Chelsea budget. Or are you one of the geniuses who will argue all day long that Chelsea haven't bought their success?
I think your matches v Villa (playing with self belief and confidence and who will have no pressure on them), Norwich (ditto), and Stoke away (unbeaten at their place in 10 or 11 matches) could all be tricky. I think QPR may roll over away from home and I think Everton could suffer a bit without Fellani (excuse spelling). Personally I think that 3rd place is yours with Arsenal, Everton and Spurs fighting for 4th-6th place.
Agree with this and just to add forget about Leeds give the guys a rest and concentrate totally on the PL. wouldn't even worry about te Cup except to experiment & use the fringe. Let Lamps captain the Cup team....... in fact I'd even let Torres play in the Cup side
Can you please list here for us the teams that have won any professional title with precisely zero expenditure. Many thanks.
NOF--I'm not sure who you support, but whoever it is I presume they are a team that doesn't spend any money! I also assume as a result they don't win anything! I like that , because over many years, my passion for Chelsea, a lot of the time was fed, on going to watch them in relegation battles! At last we have a bit of cash and I'm happy about that, but sorry your lot, whoever they are , haven't! Keep praying for a fairy Godfather, then you can have time to smile like me!!
Rebuild? where does that leave Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Marin, Moses, Cahill and Luiz? not to mention people like Chech, Ivanovic and Ramires. I make that ten pretty good players plus players coming through like Bertrand, Romeu, Azpilicueta, McEcEachran, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Bruma, Van Aanholt and Kakuta not to mention the old guard of cole, terry and possibly Lampard. You don`t need a rebuild, you need a striker/goal scorer.
