I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I'm delighted and if anyone deserves it, Wes does. Wes and Grant have been the heart of our club for the last four years. It's also no surprise that our season turned around this year once Wes was on the squad sheet in a formation that suited him. I have always thought that, in an age of power and pace when footballers are expected to look like weightlifters, Wes has been underestimated. As for Crappatoni, if he was half a good a manager as Wes is a footballer ...
Commentator said Wes had played twice for ROI in the last 4 years. He couldn't understand it. I can, Trappatoni is a fool who is past it. Made the first and scored the second. And considering Tettey looked a little out of sorts today, I thought he had a belter of a game without his usual minder to protect him.
I reckon Wes signing an improved contract today is worth more to NCFC than the three (3) points we put in the bank this afternoon
Has a real chance now to turn himself into a real all time legend. He does something no-one at the club can do. That turn gets me every time, what a class player. Awesome to see him playing in that behind the striker playmaker role he flourishes in.
What I love about him is they try and drop him every year, but we just don't work without him and it seems to get the best out of him firing him up and he is absolutely running the show week in week out now. What a player, privileged to have had him at norwich
Wes was legendary today - the battle for the first goal was tenacity exemplified and the method of the man to squeeze between two centre backs (whose combined height/weight must be x 3 of our magic lad) to bury his header past Habsi was just effing excellent. He was the ring master today. OTBC
I totally agree, we've had all sorts of systems without him being in that central role, none have developed on to anything like a permanent method of play. We really are privelaged to have had him here. I remember him at Blackpool and wanting him to play for us because he always tore us apart. I hope he does enough this season to get Player of the Season because he deserves the accolade at some point in his canary career.
I'm quite happy Hoolahan doesn't get used by Ireland for all matches, but if I was in charge of them, I'd build the whole team around him. Oozing class this season.
