Wonderful performance by the bin dippers, City need to watch over their shoulder, they'll be in 2nd before New Years at this rate.

Terrific performance by Sterling, he really is the next Messi, and then some. Who needs Cleverly when you've got Shelvey? And Gerrard's performance are something to behold. I feel a £40 million bid coming from Chelsea in January. Then there's Downing. Surely the greatest left footed player in Premier League history?!

Bit disappointed ha ha ha. All scousers shold become stand-up comedians.
Lfc will get 2nd....... Brendan is a bigger WUM against Lfc than any Manc.
You scousers have to take this on the chin, if you had won most of you would have been on here giving it large, saying Brendan big bollocks knows what he is talking about.
Look on the bright side not many teams can say they got their best player back and nosedived.

I don't come on here often anyway and wont hide from any **** thrown by you lot. The result was a joke but it doesn't mean I'm going to hide, it's not good enough but kicking off isn't going to make it better.

The question is why did Rodgers said that Liverpool could or should go for 2nd. Surely he had everything to lose. Was he trying to motivate his players? was he trying to raise expectations?

The truth is that he sounded like a prat, even if he had won yesterday. He has a massive job to do with his current squad and should give the PR business a rest...Was trying to wum his own fans ?<ok>

I think you can take heart knowing you were the better team on the day, you passed the ball better had more possession.

To be honest I really couldn't give a monkeys about other teams when were winning ours.. Thought cleverleys goal yesterday was sublime. Rooney should have scored 5.

Liverpool is the best team in the league as far as possession is concerned. At 60%-70%. Someone needs to tell Rodgers that you do not get prizes for that. Swansea had both possession AND goals. Stoke has very little possession but they can counterattack and score. Rodgers has the pretty football without the goals.

United have a lot to improve. Their attack could do much much better. RVP and Rooney are creating chances for each other but Rooney could have had a hat trick if he had converted just 50% of the barn door chances he had. Slightly disappointing performance IMO

It was his first game back after being ill. We should have scored about ten yesterday.

United is not playing well IMO. RVP may be scoring but the team has not clicked yet. The defence is still a bit uncertain and the midfield is nowhere near what it could do. Giggs and Scholes changed the game yesterday when they came on ...for the worse.

To be fair I think he was trying to say that was a long term ambition, and would be possible if City completely collapsed. His strangest comment was they they had consistency - two wins in a row, one of which was home against a relegation candidate, does not equal consistency in anyone's book!

Scary thought for everyone else - we're showing signs of starting to click, but if we can score for fun and beat City away whilst still having room to improve then what's going to happen when it all comes together?

Btw, did anyone watch the CWC final? Good to see Rafa's having an impact already - three Chelsea players marking the goal line and none marking the Corinthians goalscorer. After all, the goal line is the most dangerous zone on the pitch...
