Right next for us is Cardiff at home. After losing today and not picking up 3 points in our last home game we really need to win this one to stop a gap building from us to the top 2. Martyn Waghorn should be back for the game after missing today through recovering from having his appendix removed. Me personally I think when you are struggling for a result (I know its not that bad) you should always put your best team out in the next game to try and turn it around so thats what I would do. Here is what I would play Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Whitbread Konchesky Marshall King Drinkwater Knockaert Nugent Waghorn Subs- Logan, Moore, James, Dyer, Lingard, Vardy, Futacs
I know King has been off form recently and probably dont deserve to keep his place but I think we need to go with our best team
I think King deserves to be dropped to get the hunger and desire he showed earlier in the season when he was on the bench, at the minute he's going through the motions as it seems like he's guaranteed his starting place.
Don't care what anyone else thinks..I would get wellens in for king.. cardiff are another big physical side.. If things arn't shaken up.. no way will beat them
Fingers crossed you thrash Cardiff 5-0 as Horsham said.. Stay posative IUTBJF Peterborough beat Cardiff and you have every chance of Beating them also...
I'll be very impressed if Waghorn's back so soon after an appendix op, surgery takes a long time to recover from regardless of how minor. If that's the case, I'd stick Nugent up front by himself, King supporting behind and James sitting in the midfield, so Drinkwater can get passes through from further forward. King played best in a 3 man centre midfield a couple of seasons back when he was supported by Wellens and Abe. Marshall and Knockaert also should start so we can have a bit of interchange, Dyer seems to have lost his good form of late.
He'd have had keyhole surgery and he'd be recovered before you know it. Wouldn't be surprised to see him ni contention to play on saturday.
I thought it was 4-6 weeks recovery after having your appendix removed. Might be wrong. I'd be surprised if we saw him before mid Jan.
http://www.bupa.co.uk/individuals/health-information/directory/a/appendicectomy That's with normal surgery, keyhole surgery is means the recovery time is shortened drastically.
Ah right, good news. Thought it was longer than that. Although that 10 days is for your average Joe to return to work. Bit different to being fit for the demands of competetive football. Just hope he can continue his pre-op form when he returns.
It's a bad time for Waggy to be out, because if we sign a striker early in Jan (hopefully Pearson's busy working on it now!) then he likely won't get back into the first team. We desperately need Waggy until we bring someone in, so the sooner he's back the better.
@StringerSport: #lcfc manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed to me that Martyn Waghorn has trained this week and is available for selection vs Cardiff
