Has Rodgers come under more pressure because of the recent sackings?

We will know tomorrow whether the scousers made the right choice in tiki taka Rodgers. If they don't get a result will their owners think they got the wrong Swansea man.. <whistle>

Haha true and they are only 14 points of second so that is very possible!

Seems the scousers on the board have giving up moaning about how **** the team is doing and are now just taking the piss and pretending they won,

Come on now lads I had you Man Utd fans down as on the ball.

Didn't you realise that when Brendan Rodgers said he thought Liverpool could finish second he meant in every game

See you all next week but be warned we do get quite a few deluded scousers visiting out board

They didn't even talk about Liverpool on MoTD :D

Scouse loving media and Lawro probably can't bear to talk about them. Just too embarrassing.

How did they reach this point?

I just couln't believe it that after a run of 2 or 3 victories he said that the team should be aiming for 2nd. When they were still in the bottom half???

The great thing is that the scousers will HAVE to give him time. After promising some stability how can they do a QPR and sack him? With him I can only see the scousers as a mid table team, with 5th or 6th the best postion they'll achieve during his tenure...<ok>

Couple good buys and Liverpool could be challenging for fourth next year, sadly enough. That's mainly because of the huge drop off in quality between the top two and the rest of the league though.

Brendan is working with quite a handicap this year when you think about it. The players are mediocre at best sprinkled with some genuine turds like Joe Cole, Downing and Andy Carroll.

He's changing the style of play as well and trying to get a bunch of long ball merchants and Stevie "hollywood" Me to play possession football. Not forgetting they only have one striker and he's not a goalscorer. The fact they aren't rock bottom is a miracle.

When BR means second, he means coming second in every game.

I honestly think the scousers have made a massive mistake in appointing Rodgers. He has no track record of turning a big club rund nor has he got any for dealing with big players.

the basic mistake people make in pojecting what he can do in the future is thinking that the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, are going to stay the same. They ARE going to improve and they ARE going to buy better players. Their managers are under pressure too and they HAVE the money to do it.

Rodgers is not SAF who has had to manage with what he has got when he needed to. I honestly cannot see the scousers anywhere close to the 4th spot. Trying for 2nd is the best joke I have heard for a very long time <laugh>

That's true, but it's been true for the last three or four seasons. Since Liverpool dropped out of the top four there has been a huge gap between the top two, first Utd and Chelsea and now Utd and City, and the rest, and the team coming fourth has rarely done so convincingly. The only thing stopping Liverpool from getting fourth spot this year is their own ineptitude. Had they beaten Villa and Newcastle at home they'd be close to 4th already, but every time they get close they choke choke choke.

Couple of good buys. Good to what standards? Man Utd standards or Liverpools?

Imo to really make a claim for the top 4 they need a Robin van Persie type signing, maybe a fair few of them. Would some of the worlds best players go to Liverpool at the minute? Do Liverpool have a record of finding obscure talents like say Newcastle with Ba?

Liverpool signing players of United's standards? you're just being silly now.....

But a competent 1 goal in 2 games striker would see them move up the league. Get a CM who isn't championship quality and a defender who can defend as well and they might well be in the mix for top four.

I think Brendan was massively overrated and Martinez would have been a better choice. But just look at the crap filling LFC, from flapper Reina at the back to "barn door" Suarez as the only striker at the club. Liverpool deserve to be much lower than they are.
