Exactly, Sterling's delay in signing a new contract, could that be down to attitude too? Him assuming he's worth mega bucks already?
Er...he was sold because we didn't want to cave in to the ridiculous wage demands he (his father) was asking for. He wasn't worth what he wanted and he wouldn't budge, so we got rid. He grew too big for his boots (pun intended) at the club. Now, suddenly, he's 'worth' buying back for considerably more than we sold him for as well as giving him an even bigger wage packet.
so lets just leave the "attitude" and the "greed" o nthe sideline and lets just look at it this way. Where will ince play in our first team and who would he replace? My answer here is bench at best and i don't see him taking borini or sterlings place.... so why waste 6 precious mil?
I'd rather not buy Ince and put the 6m in to buying a good forward, of course in reality it doesn't work that way. I'd be happy with Walcott and a good striker, I'd consider that very good business. Walcott fits our system perfectly, and would relish the space Suarez makes. I'd say buy two strikers but with Borini coming back one striker would be enough, it would take the pressure of his shoulders too so he can develop properly. Personally I have no idea how January is going to pan out, part of me thinks we will be disappointed. I just hope the clear problems that are their for everyone to see are solved.
There is a couple of different versions of why he left and I could'nt see us being interested in him if he left over attitude and greed only a few months ago. Rodgers always talks about players having the right attitude so either the rumour about us signing him is bulllshit or the story about him leaving us because of attitude is bullshit, I guess we will find out in Jan.
I hate the idea of buying back players for more than you sold him for anyway. Ince is a fairly good player but he has had his chance at Liverpool and should have worked harder then, Buying back players is a no no and there is better players out there anyway...Brendan is good at finding the right kind of player that wont cost a great deal and he wont buy unless he knows he can play his type of football....He is doing a great job so far and i expect even better when he gets his players in January.....It would take a fool not to bet a top 4 finish the way the league is going...
Well if he does buy Sturridge and Ince he obviously doesn't care about attitude (or work rate). I'd rather have Maxi and Kuyt back.
TBH, that's only the second time I have seen him but he's been extremely impressive in both. Big, strong, quick, able to find the net and set others up, can hold the ball up if needed too. Still only 22 years old and he was of them Belgium players too
Well if we are thinking of bringing ince back (and I really hope that we don't) might as well go and sign n'gog who scored twice yesterday. Somebody please point out that these are championship players doing well in the championship. THEY ARE NOT WHAT WE NEED. please please go and buy some quality. Villa yesterday showed you don't have to spend fortunes on quality players..you just need to sign the RIGHT players, something we have found very difficult in the last few seasons. We need some physical presence too, not a Carroll type of physical prescience more of a toure, drogba and even benteke type. Skilfull and comfortable enough to fit into the system but also able to hold off players and hold up the ball.. I didn't see the game yesterday but on the highlight on MOTD we had so many promising positions where a simple ball would have put us through one on one and we cocked it up,Suarez being the biggest culprit. It needs sorting out.
Is it really early there or is it just really late here?? I have put in another thread the amount of players we could get for 50 mil that have the quality we need. Would provide so much depth and first team selections as well. Problem is EPIC....... we already blew that money.
I think it's time we bought some established ready made players, we have enough 'potential'. Players who can come in straight to the first team and improve it, less Sturridge more Hunterlaar. Some maybe unrealistic, but we signed Suarez? Look at Swansea and Michu, Newcastle and Ba and Cisse. It's time our scouting team pulled their fingers out, and scouted some top players for the present.
Stuart Downing has confirmed he has been told he can leave/find another club January according to sky so I should think you will be looking for a left sided player..
I pray to god we don't go after Sturridge. Does BR know only players he has worked with, and what sort of a scouting system do we have, don't they go out of England . Sturridge is just pure garbage! ball hogging pathetic showman that just won't fit the bill and Ince is totally unnecessary. We should target someone like Seydou Doumbia, the guy's a beast and works so hard for the team. I watched him in CL last season and he was brilliant. And he has been scoring tons of goals. Isn't there a way we could put this forward to BR, i'm feeling that desperate
James Pearce from the Echo has reported that we are very close to signing Ince for £4m. He also says that Ian Ayre has been in discussion with Chelsea over Sturridge for £12m.
