If we go down he might!

Indeed. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that is the main reason why we loaned Sharp, rather than sold him. If we really don't think he's good enough for the PL, or simply that he wouldn't fit into our system, then surely we would want to sell him? And ok, maybe - like with Puncheon 18 months ago - we simply couldn't find anyone to meet our asking price, but with Sharp's quality as a Championship striker, I doubt that.

No, my thinking is that should we go down this season, we would want Sharp straight back to help fire us straight back up. Assuming we could hold onto them all, a strike-force of Lambert, Sharp and Rodriguez would destroy any Championship defence.

Remember that Mayuka was only bought a few days before the end of the transfer window, I doubt there are many Championship clubs that will be able to stump up £2m at such short notice at the end of the window.

Yeah but we'd have known he was coming and that Billy would subsequently have to go. We were probably touting him around before Mayuka signed. I think the insurance of policy of recalling Sharp if we need him is probably the reason he's only on loan. Same for Hammond.

Makes sense to me!

According to the Telegraph, Redknapp wants to sign Ba. How deluded is he? Teams like Arsenal are supposed to be after him.

Blackpool boss Michael Appleton has confirmed there have been talks with other clubs regarding 20-year-old Tom Ince. Ince, who left Liverpool in 2011, has scored 13 Championship goals this season and attracted attention from his former club, as well as Manchester United.

Can't see us being one of them then!

Only chance is if Shaw's head has been turned. Don't know the lad, but it is possible though he surely must be happy with the way his career is turning out. He must know there is plenty of time. Depends on his parents and agent (if he has one).

Shaw will be staying for at least the rest of this season. I know someone close to him, and he stated in the summer he intends to see out at least this season, and see how it goes.

Hopefully the first team exposure will convince him to stay longer.

Lots more press reports about Wenger being after Shaw! They will al be disappointed!

How much do you reckon it would take Nicola to sell? Well more than we got for Oxo I reckon as we are now in the Prem.

I would think at least £15 mill upfront with further payments making it up to 20mill. Oh, and a big sell on clause.

And even if Arsenal had that money, would their fans be happy about it? Hell no.

I reckon we missed our chance. He's been too good to come to us so far this season.
