BURNLEY v WATFORD Saturday 15th December 2012 Kick Off 3.00pm GMT Burnley manager Sean Dyche will be without suspended defender Michael Duff and midfielder Chris McCann. Otherwise, the Clarets boss has a fully fit squad to pick from as he looks to steer his side to a first win at Turf Moor in more than a month. Watford could be without striker Fernando Forestieri (hamstring) once more so Matej Vydra could deputise. The trip comes too soon for John Eustace (back), while Prince Buaben (thigh) is not expected to be involved. • Sean Dyche began his managerial reign at Burnley with two wins, but since then the Lancashire club have failed to win five of their six subsequent matches. • The Clarets have scored more than a single goal in only one of their last nine Championship games. • Brighton and Charlton are the only clubs to have left Turf Moor with maximum points. • Hull's 2-1 win at Vicarage Road last weekend ended Watford's seven-match unbeaten run of five victories and two draws. • The sixth-placed Hornets have won 10 Championship games at home and 10 away, but they have scored eight fewer league goals in front of their own supporters than they have on their travels. Although Watford are 6th and Burnley 17th in the league, only 5 points seperate the two clubs, showing how tight the Championship race is. Who will win the battle of the Managers? New or Old? Both of them are popular with Hornet fans.
Only one WFC manager has managed a win at Burnley and done it twice - Ray Lewington, so about time someone else changed the record.
Nice job OFH - 5 *'s from me. I would have loved to have gone up for this to help give SD a standing ovation from the Watford fans - but just too far and too cold! I am going for a 2-2 draw!
nice one M Frenchie, thank you so much! I too would have loved to have gone to this one, for the same reason...but we are celebrating boxing day tomorrow. Usually on 26 December we spend the day with friends, but they are selfishly going on a cruise this Christmas so we are bringing Boxing Day forward...so i shall have to have a listen if i can on the radio, and if i can't, i shall have to follow twitter intently and be very sad that even Jon Marks is alluding me! As ever, i'm going for 3-1....it has to happen at some point this season! Whatever the score, i'm convinced we will win this one...and i know Sean Dyche will get a fab reception from the travelling faithful
Look on the bright side H - on the real Boxing Day, you will now be able to go to see us win in Bristol.
We need to win today - we have to get back on track quickly because it's all too easy to go on a losing / not winning run in this division as we all know. The racing Post has us as one of the stand out bets which doesn't fill me with too much joy!
#Watfordfc v Burnley: Almunia; Ekstrand, Hall, Hoban; Cassetti, Hogg, Abdi, Chalobah, Pudil; Deeney, Geijo
: Burnley start XI v #watfordfc: Grant; Trippier, Shackell (c), Long, Lafferty; Wallace, Marney, Edgar, Ings; Austin, Paterson.
bit of a disaster on that front..Mr H made arrangements for the real boxing day....gutted! i'm trying to wriggle out of it and go to Brizzel!
Oh dear - the Claret fans may be out in force pointing the finger! We only have two home-grown players in today's squad.
