Not sure about that! Think we will get 5 points but we WILL finish above you.

Likely? Yes. Maximum? Err no. We may not be favourites for Fulham or Stoke, but they're mid-table sides and they will be far from impossible to beat. The Arsenal game is at St Mary's, and there's nothing about them to be feared right now. The Chelsea game is an FA Cup fixture, unless our league game has been rearranged and I've missed it.

Of the next 6 its got to be the 1st Sunderland and 6th Villa that are crucial. If we can get 6pts from them then even 6pts from 6 isn't terrible and we've got to get something from the other 4 ... and Arsenal can't score, Chelsea are wobbly and hate Benitez so much they might be singing with the Northam, Everton love a draw and Stoke ... well I'm glad I don't have to watch them more than once a year and they'll beat us.

It's all about what we do against the sides around us and so far. Those matches keep you up, as they are (just) doing at present.

    Wigan: two goals conceded
    Villa: one goal conceded
    QPR: one goal conceded
    Newcastle: no goals conceded
    Reading: no goals conceded

    I'll take that thanks.[/QUOTE]

Quite Agree St_Bendy. I remember us conceeding 6 against Utd, Everton, Arsenal etc in many previous PL seasons (yes, remember we were a founding member and had been in the top flight for more continuous seasons than other teams such as say Chelsea...) and we stayed up not cause we got a draw against Liverpool, but because we beat teams around us.

Why did we get relegated - cause 'arry couldn't win against the worst teams in the league, not because we lost to Utd..

Points against the lower sides are crucial. The Wigan game probably came too early for us. Think it will also come down to fire in the belly.

OOh Trixter you're getting worried about QPR now! I see Fat Sam is also getting worried about your injuries. Your fall starts tomorrow. Watch those Baggies bounce!

Morning Saints, don't worry you'll be fine because you can win games.

Reading, QPR and Villa will go down. All you have to worry about is being better than 3 teams. I've seen all 3 of you against us and you're better than all them that's for sure. Good luck for the rest of the season

Not really. I still think QPR will be ok but they will be in the mix for certain. Redknapp will buy in January and there is plenty of time for him to get them out of it.

I also think WBA will beat us tomorrow. We have half our first team missing so its gonna be tough.

Overall though, Given our fixtures and your fixtures, I am content with a 7 point lead which will open up further in Jan/feb.

I noticed that. I'm sure he said QPR, thanks to the wonderful Harry, were going to be safe two weeks ago. Now they're a possible contender for that 18th spot.

Any way, the point about beating Sunderland and Villa in these next six games is a very good one (I noticed that the Sunderland fan conveniently seems to ignore the fact that we then have Villa coming up). Averaging one point per game from here on in will probably keep us out. At the very least, I would expect it to see us go into the last game or two of the season with a chance of survival. And by beating Sunderland and Villa in these next six, we would average one point per game even if we lost the other four games 6-0 each.

As I say, it is all about what you do against the sides around you. If we'd beaten Wigan at home (ie a side around us), we would be SIX points clear of the relegation zone right now. And we would be in that position without a battling 1-0 home win over Liverpool, or a scrappy 1-1 draw away to Arsenal, or a slightly fortunate 2-1 away win vs Spurs.

I still maintain that QPR will stay up. I haven't changed from that. But they will be involved in the dogfight and I don't think I have ever said otherwise.

Redknapp is a top manager and gives them their best possible chance of survival.

Redknapp isn't that good. If he can't get QPR to beat Villa at home, then what the **** can he do?

I expect QPR to win today, but if they don't then Harry's record will read zero wins from Sunderland, Aston Villa, Wigan and Fulham. Hardly impressive considering the standings of those four sides in the table.

It will also put huge pressure on their next two games, away to Newcastle and home to WBA. Neither a walk in the park, but at least one would have to result in three points - as their following five games read:

    Liverpool (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    Spurs (h)
    West Ham (a)
    Man City (h)

Like us, QPR started the season with a very difficult fixture list - and thus, like us, those fixtures come back around again in January and February. Unlike us however, they are currently not taking advantage of their current run of favourable fixtures.

Really? I've been waiting for Natalie Portman to show up on my doorstep for a while now, and I'm starting to think it's not going to happen.
