12,000 miles - just after Christmas. Not going to happen. And they are not even showing it on TV here. Good luck to all that are going though.
I will not be there. Three trips to the UK in three months is rather more than I normally do, so to have made it four was not going to happen. Still I have my seat for the Forest game, so feel quite happy about that. It needs some of us to listen to Jon Marks.
Sadly I also will not be there due to a prior family commitment which I cannot wriggle out of. Still I content myself in the knowledge that I was there the last time we played at the Etihad (or whatever it was called in 2006). What am I saying? It was pouring with rain that Monday night, I got soaked getting to the ground and the game itself was a dismal 0-0 draw with both sides lucky to get 0! It was about our 3rd away point in the Premiership that season - in December. Highlights (or at least highest lowlights) included the duel between Mahon and Dickov. You lucky people (as a Fulham chairman used to say).........
Nope. A ten year-old's birthday party for me. Will have to try and keep up with the good work of those listening to 3CR on my phone.
I've got to work Friday morning so wouldn't be able to get there in time, especially as I can't afford the flight so I would have to hitch.
The realisation has just struck home that, if - or should I say when - we get to the final, obtaining a ticket will be virtually impossible for many of us. I have a fan id - but can't remember what it is & haven't been to a match since we lost 1-3 to Palace three Easters ago. The last tickets I bought were the were the Xmas after that - couldn't get there as the planes were cancelled due to snow. I sent the tickets back hoping for a refund but never heard from the club. So I guess it will the armchair again for our next Wembley appearance.
Good point BB. My last games were in the autumn of 2009; I still have a Club card but have no idea whether it is still on their system. I don't get mailouts any more. I'm fully intending to make an effort to to get back to the Vic in the spring (in time for the promotion run-in) when we get some warmer weather, but will have to find out how much the booking/membership system has changed. I bet it has; the way technology moves on these days I'll probably find that supporters have to be chipped like pets. Now there's an idea!! (Big Brother is really watching you!)
Can't go cos I am working so me and the junior hornets will be missing a famous Watford victory............will be glued to the forum tho You Hooooornnnz!
Your right BB , I've not been to a game in years but had a good run from 75-02 , so the armchair it is or a tout ,
Regarding obtaining tickets for a final - it is probably easier getting a ticket for a final than this game. I guess it just depends on how the allocation is divided up. But if there is only 1 ticket per season ticket holder, then with around 8K ST holders, it would leave around 12K tickets (I am assuming 20K are allocated to supporters) to be allocated to members, which is considerably more than for the Citee game. I just hope we are having this conversation around late April!
