Birminham targetted Colocinni's weakness, not great in the air and struggles againts big lads. I know people are besotted by him, and he's a good player, but not a great defender. None of the top teams would take him because he's not strong enough against powerful fowards.

Agree about Taylor though, when fit should always start. But to be fair Williamsons done better than I thought he would.

We have serious problems up front with not one single decent forward in PL terms in the club. Why oh why did we let Carroll go? ****ing stupidity.

By the way.. IMO Cameron Jerome's game is based on running off shoulders, using his pace(like he did for Bowyer's goal), his work-rate and his team-work. I never thought of him as a ''target man'' or physical presence in the air. Ridiculous. Just ask the Birmigham fans, Jerome isn't a lone forward!

Not that I care though AND don't think I'll want to sign him.. just saying y'know. <ok>

Well you've come back all full of beans haven't you!

Personally I think Saylor is too erratic and not because he hasn't had a consistent run in the team 'cause I've been watching Newcastle for years and he's always been the same.

Saying Willo is consistently average is beyond harsh in my opinion!

Also, I don't think Tiote should've been carded today - I'll watch again on MOTD but personally I think it was harsh!

Well there was nowt ridiculous about the fact he won everything in the air against Colo today, and it wasn't his pace that won the goal it was Colo making a bad mistake that caused it.

People were saying that Taylor is a liability, now people are saying they love him!

I'm still not sure, not comfortable with him against a good strike force.

Tash - how you can call Taylor excellent is beyond me. He is far from excellent, had the potential to be a good centre back yes and still does tbh, but to say he's excellent against a fairly poor Brum side is naive of you to say.

You speak as though you know what happens in training, who is the better leader, who the players prefer being talked to, team chemistry etc. There is obviously a reason our 'MANAGER' (not tash) thinks Willo is the better option at CB.

I'm not disagreeing that Taylor isn't going to make the most of his chance (this time) and stake a claim for a regular starting place - it is perceivable. I am just yet to be convinced - I am however 100% sure that Taylor is not "Excellent"

Lets see how he does in the next 2 games, Personally I'd like to see us bring in a decent CB for 4/5 Mill if one is available...

Tash, Saylor has put in one good performance, he also put in some crap ones earlier in the season hence Willo getting the starting place, so it is a bit early for all the hyperbole!

As for taking credit for how good Saylor is are you going to come back and admit to being wrong when it turns out that he is just a good player worthy of backup and not the defensive saviour you have just made him out to be?

You can't really judge after one match though tbh, Willo has had more good games than bad ones. And Taylor could have been sent off for his elbow, which would of put us in the ****ter really.

This. 100%. Willo still not that good though. Colo not great and is vastly overated by our fans. I can think of 35,000,000 reasons we let Carroll go.

Good article. Williamson is a good backup, and I dunno who I'd chose I both were fit an in form.
The Tiote thing on Bowyer is exactly what has summed up Tiotes season.
Didn't actually notice Lover apart from his chance.
Nolan should have bagged a hatrick from his chances.
But overall a good game with a threadbare squad

Also, why didn't Lovers goal get on the Goal o the Month comp?
