This. Overturn was super impressive and if he can continue to jump fences like he did on debut he'll be better over fences than he was hurdles. Plus his gutsy but slightly one paced style is better suited to the big obstacles where more of the emphasis is on jumping and less on raw speed.

    Morning all

    Two for me today

    12.45 Chelt - BENE LAD @ 20/1

One of the few horses in the race that will enjoy the conditions and is fairly handicapped. May of won on his reappearance at Ayr, if not for unseating the rider three out. will strip fitter for the run and must hold a live chance off a 1lb higher mark.

    3.40 Chelt - EDUARD @ 9/2

Wonderful performance last time out when winning by 18L with ease. If this horse was trained in the South, he would be a clear cut favourite.

    Good luck all!

I definitely agree that 4/1 looks too big a price for this Cheltenham specialist.

My other bet today will be on Bougler who had some very high quality form a couple of seasons back and ran a promising race lto, i think there is a good chance he still has the ability to make the frame in this competitive race.

Best of luck to all punters today.

I bid you all good morning as I celebrate my 44th birthday by having a relaxing day off and picking out some winners at Cheltenham <ok>

I was looking back at the year of my birth, 1968, and see that Fort Leney (who has that Grade 1 Novice chase run in his honour) won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Persian War (remembered with the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Chepstow) won the first of his hat-trick of Champion Hurdles, Drinny's Double retained the Champion Chase, on the flat Lester Piggot won the 2000 Gns and Derby on Sir Ivor and Vaguely Noble won the Arc. Not a bad year, I'm sure some of you will have fond memories of the time. <ok>

Need to study the Cheltenham card now, at first glance it doesn't look like the greatest ever seen at Prestbury Park, but I'm sure there are some decent opportunities for a wager.

Rebel Rebellion at 7/1 is a cracking bet. This race looks more winnable and he ran a very fair race in top company last time out, and he needs a trip to be seen at his best. I feel the bookmakers have him wrong here.

1.55 Cheltenham Quartz De Thaix Midnight chase loves cheltenham and is definately the class act here, but he has the weight to prove it. I'm not even sure he can confirm Charlie Hall placings with Planet Of Sound, who paid the price for forcing the pace in testing ground that day. The two that appear well handicapped are Bradley, near the bottom of the weights, and the progressive selection, who is two from two this season and clearly improving. Entered in the Welsh National, a win here might spare him the horrors of Chepstow in deep mid winter.

Elsewhere on the card, i was pleasantly surprised to see Saint Roque still widely available at 6/1 despite being put up by both Pricewise and a handful of contributors to this forum.

    All the best Oddy!

I assume there are some cold ones and/or a bottle of red put aside for later on?

Finally im back in the land of the living today. Red wine i never drink the stuff but when its free and coming by the bottle im a greedy *******

I've never known a hangover like it and i will never be drinking red wine again free or not.

Anyway im on a break even month so far but hoping that Lowther in the 2.20 at Lingfield can edge me in front.

Good luck to everyone else today.

Just having a look at the Cheltenham card today..

Having a look at REBECCAS CHOICE 20/1 in the conditional jockeys race. Looks well in the weights on quite a few of these, Robert Williams on board.

    Happy Birthday Oddy :emoticon-0167-beer:

Your meant to savour the taste of the wine, think about the complexities of the grape and what food it goes well with...

Not just shove it down your fizzo...!!!<laugh><laugh><laugh>
