If the media are to be believed we have our hearts set on Dann. I wouldn't be too unhappy if we sign him up!

I wouldn't be happy. He's not an improvement on Fonte and Yoshida. I will be very disappointed if we spend 6 mill on him.

Agree with that if we can get him. Not sure we would have to pay £6m for Dann though. Blackburn may be a lot keener to sell than in the summer.

Would you be happy if we spent 6 mill on him? I think Craig Dawson would be a better option, and he'd be cheaper.

Craig Dawson is a name I've been crying out for since he was at Rochdale. Good young player, with bags of potential - our sort of signing

Danns wouldn't be a improvement on Hooiveld let alone Fonte and Yoshida, he is massively over hyped.

What is it with people bashing Dann constantly. Has anyone actually seem him play this season? (Beef_Dripping, the fact that you dont know his surname suggests you havn't seen an awful lot of him!)

He wasn't the reason his premiership teams got relegated and so to say "no thank" based solely on that is rediculous. There were some big teams sniffing around him when he was at birmingham, where he was excellent, and a friend of mine who is a blackburn fan reckons he has been their best player this season. Hooiveld has looked scarily bad at this level I'm affraid and I still don't ocmpletely trust the current paring.

What's more, he is a good age, has premiership experience and would come wanting to prove that this is his level. He would definately be an improvement on what we already have.

I'm not saying we shouldn't look at other options, with Dawson being a very good one, but I for one would be quite happy with Dann.

Cortese set the bar high by buying Gaston, but I would be amazed if we spend much money in this window. It's getting the balance right between risk and return. It will be loans I'm sure... with any spare cash laid out on players with high wage demands that we can let go at the end of season. Remember we had to take out a loan to help the cash flow....will be sorted when money comes from Sky, but doesn't suggest the coffers are brimming.

I have seen Dann alot thanks just because i added a s means **** all get a ****ing grip. Aren't we allowed to make mistakes?, you still got who I ment didn't you? Yep you did. He is not as good as some think, this is coming from a person who used to rate him. He was good for Brum but since then has been average at best, he is playing for a poor Blackburn team . For the quoted 6mil he is way over priced, we can do far better then a player like Dann.

Beef Dripping - calm down - I was just making the point!

I'm not sure where the 6m figure has come from I have to say (probably just because that's how much Blackburn payed for him), but having a Blackburn season ticket holder say he really rates him, that he has been Blackburn's best player and that he would be very sad to see him go is good enough for me.

I too think we will go after a few loans (perhaps a winger and defensive cover) but think that we may well spend a bit on a centre back just because it's so obviously needed and I'd want at least one centre back in who has premier league experience.

If we can get Dann (s) for less than 5m I would be happy. I don't think his value would be likely to dicrease in his time at SMS either (which seems to be a criteria for NC and NA signings)

I am carm and who are Blackburns? I've heard of Blackburn so it may mean you don't know much about them :p. He has been Blackburn's best player but that isn't saying much is it?. They are a poor team, specially in defence.

My opinion is he isn't that good.

Dead right and I don't think Nicola will spend that kind of money again for a long time. Possibly a common misconception is that Nicola went out with £12m to find whatever attacking midfielder he could get his hands on. He didn't - the opportunity to sign Ramirez at acceptable cost came up, and Nicola took it. These players don't grow on trees so there is not much point saying "should have signed another left back", as the deal just did not appear. A lot is said about our transfer spending but it's not one off fees that are important, our wage cost must still be in the bottom three of the Prem. You really would think Cortese was a 15 year veteran of this game.

Blackburn are a midtbale championship team. Do I take it, therefore that you would say no to on form players from other underperforming championship teams? Tom Ince, Phillips, Bogdan, Butland, Austin, Redmond etc

Judge every player on their own merits and Dann has done nothing to make me doubt that he would improve our starting 11. I think we could do much worse than look at the best of the championship at this point in our devlopement and Dann is unquestionably one in that bracket. Nathan Clyne hasn't looked at all bad since stepping up!
