The problem is that Portsmouth is a toxic asset. No one sane would want to own it and it can't be run as a upper tier club.

Therefore anyone wanting to own the club is either 1) Crazy and/or 2) Corrupt. I would say the PST falls into category 1. They're hearts are in the right place, but they want the club to survive so much they are ignoring the stark fiscal reality that they don't have the money to keep it going once bought. Chanrai and many others fall into category 2.

The administrators don't care. They just want to get rid of the club for any money they can get. If it falls apart again 3 years from now, it's not their concern. Crazy or corrupt doesn't matter to them as long as you step up with cash in hand to buy the assets.

I think if I were a Portsmouth fan I would much prefer for the whole thing to fall apart. And then just start over with a new Portsmouth club rather than try and prolong the misery with the current one. But I suppose that's easy to say as a bystander. The money that the PST is more than enough to get a new club going if the supporters will commit.

"I'm not racist, I hate everyone equally"

I agree. That would be the logical decision, but football and logic rarely go hand in hand.

Surely most Pompey would prefer to see PFC fighting for their L1 lives, minus the various leeches having any part of it, than start from scratch as AFC Portsmouth?

Well yes, that would be preferable, if we could get rid of said leeches and keep the club financially stable.

    Big if there, I think.

I fear that there won't be enough funds and this will start all over again if the fans take over. Nonleague could be better as the Pompey fan base is enough to be a massive club at that level. Wimbledon managed it.

Just looking at the posts by a minority on The News site, it is enough to alienate anyone who would want to sympathise, incredibly blinkered and astonishingly abusive towards anyone that disagrees with their point of view, even their own fans, they are doing the Club that they are supposed to support no favours.

Our own fans, are you referring to the real realist? I somehow doubt he is a fan, I'd considered registering just to voice my opinion of him as well.

I somehow don't think 'realist' is anything other than a WUM/Troll with no real allegiance, he can defend himself on here if he likes, he annoyingly comes across with some sensible posts, which is more than I can say about a couple of the others, you must know who I mean.

Okay, there's that dude with loads of random letters in his name but he seems like a bit of a chav really, a pathetic chav at that. Every club has chavs unfortunately.

As for the realist, a lot of his comments lack any substance and are just a few words of trolling-ness.

We, certainly have a few attention seeking trolls on the various Forums, with multiple sign ons, the Echo site is notorious for that, a "new" sign on appears and starts with a reasonable post, as soon as people respond, it goes down hill fast. It is all too easy to get sucked in, until you realise that you are being had, then it is time to walk away with egg on your face and wait for the next one, in the hope that they are the real deal and you can get a decent thread going.

The sad thing for real Pompey fans is that this has been allowed to run and run and run and is still running. Football is more than a business for some, it is life. Sadly it appears that nobody in a powerful position can use the same power to get this sorted asap. The fans are being led a merry(?) dance whilst the main villain is given every chance to stretch the pain for longer and longer.

SURELY THE TIME HAS COME FOR THIS TO END.

It is extremely complicated...ours was simple...we're here, come and save us. Even if I was a rich businessman, I would be very reluctant to get involved in this can of worms.

Can anyone tell me what Chanrai hopes to gain by offering to keep Pompey afloat until the end of Season if they change the current administrators? Surely it is the football league that has kicked Chanrai's bid into touch not the administrators?
