Yeah was happy with his comeback :) Hope he can find some form and maintain it for next season, providing he doesn't get injured pre-season again!

    No problem :)

Bit harsh. He's good at lots of things:
    Being a lazy ****
    Missing sitters
    Getting Injured
    Scoring against the mackems
    Being a lazy ****

  12. Lovenkrands is our 2nd best striker behind best, he should stay and Shola should go.

Lovenkrands tries harder, links up with the team better, has better pace and works well with a good partner. Playing with Best brought the best out of Lover, as both strikers have decent vision, positioning and passing ability.

Lover relies on Shola to knock the ball down for him, but Shola is **** and loses headers against players much smaller than him.

Lover could have scored 2 goals in the first 15 mins against Blackpool but unfortunately, we don't add "must have the ability to pass the ball 4 yards" to our players application packs, and Shola was allowed to join our team.

Lover plays better if he has a good partner to benifit from his pace and vision, but playing him with Shola brings Lover down with him. Shola can't link up with anyone well, and Lover doesn't get any support from him.

Lover is better than Shola and deserves to stay.

I'd keep Shola, he gives us a physical presence in some games like today Lovenkrands was literally non-existent.

This, exactly. Lovenkrands linked up well with Best in the few matches they had together before the injury and his effort and work rate is 1000 times better than Shola's. Would much rather see him stay on than Shola, who puts pretty much no effort in at all, or at least poor skill makes it seem that way.

  15. That's complete **** mate, Lovenkrands threatened the goal much more than Shola did, didn't you see the excellent save Forster had to make against him?

Lovenkrands also chases the opposition down and wins us possession or forces the other team to think on their feet and sometimes mess up.

Lovenkrands is a grafter, and deserves to stay far more than Shola. Shola offers nothing outside the derby days or on the days he can be bothered to move his arse.

    Lover > Shola.

Bit harsh on Lover, he was really buzzing at the start of the game and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

Thought Shola had an ok game today by his standards. At times he held it up well, shielded it well and his link up play was alright. Didn't provide much threat on goal though which is what we need our strikers to do, and he's still a lazy ****. However, wouldn't sell him, couldn't bare seeing him in another shirt and he's a one club man.

I didn't see the chance but then again my stream was jumpy!

I agree he works harder and hassles defenders but when it comes to scoring goals for some reason i'm never confident that Lovenkrands will score but with Ameobi I know that he could do something in the air.

Just a gut instinct that I prefer Ameobi. Both Championship standard though imo.

  19. The Blackpool game said it all, if Shola was any good, he could have played a square ball to Lover and he would have scored 2 and that would have been the match won.

Lover scores and has more effect on the game with a better partner. Lover and Best are the best pair we have, and together they're a decent upfront pair.

Lover can cross and pass the ball well and has good vision. He also links up with others, something Shola doesn't do, instead he gets the ball and passes it back to the opposition.

Shola may terrorise the oppositions defense in a few odd games, but any team outside the bottom 6 can nulify his effect on the game, thus keeping Lovenkrands out of the game aswell as he doesn't get support.

Lover can attack in many more way than Shola and has more uses, but if his partner plays badly, he will generally remain a passenger.

Lover and Best played well together, and Lover got some form in this league.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, I just don't think Lovenkrands has enough good days to warrant a place in the team, neither do, but Shola has more presence about him and I think teams worry about his threat more.

Either way we'll find out in the summer as to which one leaves!
