There's less of it in France, they don't really understand anyone supporting a smaller team.. unless it's one of the Corsican clubs - Bastia or Ajaccio as they're a bit "anti France", Lens or St Etienne (but it's a well supported club). A lot of Lyon people are fickle and only support Lyon when they're winning.. I heard it only last week.. "Lyon are top so I'm going to the stadium".. "Where were you in the 80s when they were Div 2?".. "ah but it was not interesting" they say..
This made me laugh- the Bradford players have come out and said playing against 10 man Torquay was harder than playing Arsenal.
If you'd said that I wouldn't have pointed out the error, it was cos you called him Da Vinci without the Leonardo.
And he played people out of position? Parkinson was very unpopular with the players though and it wasn't just the ice baths. They said he had absolutely no charisma, passion, motivation etc. he just seemed completely hollow. Pretty much how he came across in his interviews.
PP tried to play expansive football - witnessed in opening day defeat by West Brom at the Hawthorns and then again in the Barnsley Home game but after leading 2-0 we went on to lose 3-2. He then seemed to bottle the attacking style soon after that and in the end we were shambolic in the 5-1 defeat at Colchester. He was also very wooden in his interviews and I think at the time the Club was just too big for him. He had a pretty decent squad and thankfully PB sorted it out albeit only just. Pleased now he is beginning to show signs of being a good manager.
Car park. It was all their dads. And what OLM said. Apparently after a beer or two he was a big character, hard to believe but that's the word.
