Our defencive problems have been caused by our wide players not supporting the full backs and nothing whatsoever to do woth Morgan who has been doing a tremendous job playing in front of them with Cork and thus protecting them. Our improvement defensively is down to the extra work Puncheon is now doing and having a more defensive full back in Shaw who does not push forward only to be exposed by Lallana's lack defensive responsibilty.

Dan Seaborne has extended his loan at Charlton by a further month.

I personally expect him to go there permanently in January :)

Hope all the unwanted players who helped us over past few years get settled in decent sides. Our rapid promotion caught a few out.

Barnard got dropped for a FA Cup game because he isn't eligible (Saints don't want him cuptied) and now he can't get his place back.

2 cb's and a winger please, maybe a lb but I think Fox could be ok as back up until August.

And if Luke Shaw gets a long term injury, touch wood, then we're ****ed down the left.

A better LB than Fox in January is needed

A centre back who can play left back (seems to be plenty of them on the continent) and a first choice centre back would do me nicely in terms of defensive cover.

Agree that a winger is needed to give something a bit extra, especially as Adam looks to be injured until mid January and Mauyka will be away on Affrican cup duty.

I still wouldn't say no to a physical presence in midfield either, just to offer us something different when we need it.

Get rid of some of the players who are, sadly, not good enough, and get 4 new faces in in January to boost the squad (even if some ar loans).

We are in a good place at the moment.

Our fringe players (ie. so far out they will never get a game) may not be that easy to shift. They are on contract at good wages...may be able to loan them out for part-payment of wages. However, some players may not want to move too far from their home and would be unlikely to move homes for a loan period.

This is true. A few of them will be out of contract in the summer though, and I'm sure we will want to keep the likes of Hammond and Sharp around in case we are relegated, so I don't see this as a massive problem.

Read somewhere that Hammond wanted a move to get game time, bearing in mind that he wasn't first on the team sheet even in the Championship. Don't know how long his contract is, but a good pro like him will find a decent club no problem. The Sharp situation seems a little odder...he was shocked to be loaned out for the season and I feel sorry for him. He is a goal poacher and I liked him, but presumably Adkins felt he didn't suit our style. They didn't want him cup tied, presumably to keep his value up as I doubt he will play for us again (unless relegated).

Deano's contract runs out at the end of next season. :)

I think Sharp will stay at Forest as well, he's doing well for them, their fans love him, and they can afford him.

Feel sorry for Sharp, but he was well paid and has another team to play for so it's not too bad. He was bought to fill a need but don't think NA really wanted him. His baby is due soon...has it arrived yet?

Personally I would still like to see if Billy could score at PL level. I think he could. Le Fondre has managed to.

Sharp is a difficult one, I don't see how he would fit in to the current system and am not convinced that he is good enough to a)play up front on his own b)score at PL level. He pretty much did his job by helping us get promoted.

Having said that, in terms of who I'd rather see come on to nick a goal when we are 2-1 down with 10 minutes to go I'd pick Sharp every time over Tanaradi Lee and possibly even Rodriguez.

For me, we would be well served recalling him back as a squad member and giving Lee some gametime elsewhere. He'd benefit massivly from a stint in the championship now that he is fit imo - the only down side to that is that Mayuka will be away on international duty and Lee could do a job on the wing for us (but Sharp probably couln't).

WBA ready to sell Craig Dawson so says Sky Sports. Think he would fit in well with our young team
