Tribal are claiming that we're in for 23 year old midfielder Michael O'Connor from Scunny, with Swansea also after him.
He always seems to have very good reviews but I can't personally recall seeing him play. Tribal is up there with the worst of them anyway
Scunny generally are quite good at bringing through players at this level. He might be a welcome addition to the team.
I loathe Scunthorpe. Know nothing about the guy to be honest, and my knowledge of players at this level has always been OK.
He might be a good signing, but I'll hold back my opinion until it's more secure than Tribal. They just make up stories to get the hits off NewsNow.
Seem to think he has missed a few games through injury this season, but the geezer on Humberside who covers Sunny Scunny seems to rate him highly... not sure whether that`s a good thing or bad !
Mclean also scored 8 goals in a team that went down...... Anyway i think he would be a decent signing, he was one of those i doubt who is going to be premier league class, but for the Championship he is a very good player.
Who, McLean? Don't tell From Boothferry To Wembley, he'll have your knackers off (for his personal collection).
O'Connor is a right winger though and has only played 24 times this season. McLean is a striker and I think he played a decent amount of games for Peterborough (high thirties?).
Bit random, but I was reading a FourFourTwo supplement from August about this season, were they ask a fan from every club their thoughts on how they'll do (some numpty said we'd get 5th JINX). Anyway, they asked a *****borough fan if they'd be bothered if Macca and CMS left. Their reply was that they'd done nothing at this level last season so they wouldn't care if either went somewhere else. Great. I still think McLean is a good player though , and I just hope Pearson has more patience than fans like FBTW and TWF.
I'm afraid I haven't the patience either, his first touch is appalling, he's 27 and I simply don't think he'll cut it at this level.
That's the one thing that makes me doubt him; his age. If he were even 2 years younger I'd say give him time, but I still think he'll be given until January at least.
