It's good to be back - My thoughts on the Brum game

  1. Firstly, why the **** was Coloccini marking Jerome? Jermome is ****e but he's a big physical presence, and we all know that Colo's weakness is big, physical players.
Jerome won everything in the air vs Colo. Taylor should have been marking Jerome instead with Colo covering.

I hope that people realise now that i was right. Steven Taylor is miles better than Williamson. Despite Williamson being 3 inches taller, Taylor wins much more in the air,
and is one of our best attacking threats from set plays and corners. When Taylor gets a proper shot, not ****ing played at RB or played as a sub, he's an excellent player.

I still want us to sign another CB, but Taylor is much better than Williamson. Taylor's passion is his weakness, he so much wants to score, but he needs to be calmed down
that's all, he doesn't need to be dropped. His passing, decision making, average ariel win percentage, goal threat and just overall play is far better than Willo's.

Why do you think Williamson was at Wycombe Wanderers for so long???????????

Taylor is better when he's in form, and the stick he got when he came back to the team as a right back was uncalled for. What the **** do you expect playing out of position?
The few performances he had before the Everton game, when he was in his PROPER position, were mostly very good, but that RB game must have knocked has confidence.

When Taylor gets a proper chance in his prefered position, he's a great CB, and much better than Willo in pretty much every way. His injuries have been his down fall,
but if he's given a proper chance he's a good CB.

I said Taylor would score, and he was unlucky not to have 3-4 already anyway. Howay Stevey Taylor son!!

I thought Barton, Tiote and Jonas were excellent, Barton especially. His dispersal of the ball was immense, and it was hard to decide who deserved man of the match,
but ****ING TIOTE MAN! WHY THE **** DOES HE HAVE TO GET HIMSELF ****TY BOOKINGS LIKE THAT? The amount of bookings hes gotten are a disgrace, and in my opinion,
he should be dropped for the next two games and fined a weeks wages.

    My ratings -

    Krul - 8 - Good performance.

Simmo - 8 - Best performance in a while. Some of the best passing and crossing from him in ages.

Taylor - 8 - Solid performance, great goal. We always knew Taylor would score this season, and always looks like scoring.

Colo - 7 - Bad mistake that cost us, but i'll let him off because he's been class for the majority of the season.

    Enrique - 7.5 - Good.

Barton - 9 - MOTM Excellent. Most of his deliveries were excellent. He created alot and linked up with Lover Lover very well.

Tiote - 9 - Immense - Loved the way Boywer tried his thuggish **** on him, and bounced off the immovable object which is Cheik. Thats Fabregas and Boywer he's pwned now.

Jonas - 8.5 - He was class. Excellent dribbling, a threat to their team, but the reason why he doesn't get a 9 because there was no final product to his runs.

Lover - 7 - Good game, and i firmly believe he deserves to stay as a back up striker next season, and Shola should **** off. Lover tries very hard,
and could get more goals if he had a partner that wasn't lazy as ****. Lover is grafter, and scores more vital goals to earn us points. Ameobi scores the odd goal and thinks
that just because he scores against Sunderland he can **** off for the rest of the season. Lover deserves to stay for his efforts and he's been our 3rd best striker this
season. He may not have scored more than Shola, but his passing and ability to link up with our players is excellent, and is very good working with an upfront partner.
He was very good most of the time with Leon Best.

    Shola - 3 - Complete **** but decent penalty.

MOTM - Joey Barton. Jonas was more threatening on goal, but Barton shaped our attacks and dispersed the ball extremely well.
We have to agree that if Jonas attacks and runs well then great, but at the end of the day, no shot on goal or no delivery to create a chance... well, i think you know
what i'm trying to say. Joey Barton MOTM. Barton created so much and i'm afraid i can't agree that Jonas should get it just for skinning some players and striking a few
of target and putting in a couple of decent crosses. Jonas was awesome, but Barton was the reason why we got forward so much and he created alot.

Firstly I think You'll find we can't control for what Jerome does!
I think it was a brum plan to put him up against colo
    Saylor had a cracking game!
However he's been inconsistent before so don't right willow off yet the performance against brum away was the best we've defended and he was awesome against zigic and Jerome when he came on
Ratings are ok if a lil high!
We dominated the second half and didnt really look troubled!
However Lover wasn't great but he works hard!
Barton was good but Jonas gives us so much by earning free kicks
    My MOTM was Taylor

Tbh I don't think Tiotes yellow was entirely deserved this time, wasn't worth a card from what I saw and you could see how gutted he was after not putting in a rough challenge all game.

  8. Saylor was good in his spell in the middle of the season, but when a player comes on as a sub or is played out of position, don't expect him to play to his full potential.

Saylor plays great when he gets regular games, not subs or games out of position.

  9. If he really didn't deserve a yellow he would have argued, because that's what he normally does. He pulled a player back when he was on the break, it was a yellow card. He keeps on tugging players shirts and clipping players heels.

He needs to calm down at times and accept when he's been beaten off the ball, not bring a player down that's gotten passed him.

Don't get me wrong potentially I think he's a better CB than Willow!
However I think he's prone to plenty of mistakes and Willow (if a lil worse) is consistent
I'd pick Saylor but to right off willow after a good season for us is ungreatful and harsh!

  11. Willow is consistantly average, and Taylor can be consistant if he gets a regular run in of games, but he got injured and his game back against Everton nailed his own coffin.

    Taylor is better than Willow.

Willow makes plenty of mistakes but Colo usually bails him out. Willo lacks agility and his passing is ****e. He's **** in the air for how tall he is.

Taylor is better in every way, and should start next season if we don't sign a new CB. I just hope for Taylor's sake he doesn't get another injury.

Didn't remember any shirtpulling at all, just a mild clip of the heel with not much force or malice in it. Will have to watch it again later though cos I was too busy being gutted that he'd got another yellow.

    OK.

    Let's see.

    1) I agree on Barton being man of the match.
    2) Fair enough ratings.
    3) Calm down on the Willo vs Taylor thing. IMO Saylor's the better CB when he's on ON FORM and FULLY FIT. I'll love Samba though <whistle>

  14. Doesn't matter. He brought a player down without touch the ball and stopped a counter attack. It's either unprofessionalism or he just can't control his rage at times. Pick one.

    You're completely underestimating willow!
Arsenal 0-1 Newcastle - willow played
    Newc 0- 0 Manu- Willow
    Brum 0- 2 Newc Willow

    He's obviously not that bad!
I think Saylor is the better player(Potentially)- better on the ball, good at attacking the ball
but i don't buy his consistency
He was part of the back 4 when we were relegated!

  18. He's been on form when ever he's been given a proper chance though, his poor performances have been mainly the Everton game when he was at RB, and against Villa away when Willo and Taylor were complete crap as a pair.

If we want to see Taylor back to his best he should get his first team place back.

We can't just settle for mediocre Willo, we need to give Taylor the spot and a good run in of games.

Welcome back Tash, I think you're ratings need to go down 1 for each player and more for Krul as he didn't do much. But all in all I agree with you.
