I stayed in North London for 6 weeks back in 99. The streets were full of blacks and the pubs full of Micks. Just at the Queens Park tube stop and down a load of steps.

A lot more poverty there than in Derry.

I have lived in Paddington , Lancaster gate, Turnpike lane, Notting Hill, South Woodford ,Holloway Forest Gate and now Maryland out of all these places North London is the best for me.
I grew up in Norfolk and Essex and had the benefit of being able to play all day in the countryside on my bike with my mates but unless you want to work as a farmer or like commuting miles every day London is better for work.
East London is **** but i can walk to work in 15 minutes...

It was suggested that the Beelfast people should adopt a flag more representative of both sides of the community and the peace between the two.

To which UNION FLAG Patrick responded:

I have been blown up less in Derry than I ever was in London.

I'd go through Turnpike Lane every day on my way to school. The cinema was so rubbish you could hear the tube running underneath. Completely ruined Batteries not included for me.

Someone suggested creating a new flag for the Island of Ireland. I said that was pointless. Someone mentioned the U.K have a flag.
I pointed out that was a tad bit different as it is part of a united kingdom and asked should Spain & Portugal or Canada & USA also create a flag for each as they are geographical neighbours. No response. That was supposedly my fail.

    Went to "all that trouble"

Google search laddy to prove that I was right.

I lived in Barking,Walthamstow,Finsbury Park,Holloway Rd,Hampstead,Turnpike Lane and my last address was Crouch End with Finsbury Park my fave. The pubs around there were an education and yes full of Irish and Blacks but I learnt something there especially from the Blacks who we had something in common with, they were 1st generation.Johnny Rotten,The Rainbow(was a black church in my time),Flead and that boozer that was used in Trainspotting.I spent 10 years in London and was offered a job back home,a no brainer really.

No Sir. A load of my mates went there though. i'd have to stand near the Special Brew Creq to get the bus up to lovely Crouch end though.

That stinking underpass from the bus garage was rotten.

The Burger King used to be a big Irish pub. An IRA pub back in the day before I was born.
