If he was that good, there would be interest within a dozen games. http://metro.co.uk/2012/09/03/arsen...ck-up-on-leicester-starlet-liam-moore-563871/
Love, we're 21 games through the season, we haven't even played everyone once... I can categorically say Arsenal have a better 'keeper, defence, midfield, and strike force than West Brom, yet West Brom are somehow higher in the league. I wouldn't say that it's "strange" for a team with worse players to be above another team in the league.
You're confusing interest, with clubs bidding for a player. Everton watched Chester on four occasions last season, but they are yet to actually bid for him. Ditto Villa. There will be dozens of Championship players currently interesting Premier League clubs, but they'll want to see them for more than a dozen games before they start offering millions of pounds for them.
Andy... Trotters a bit of a enigma, bit Jekyll and hide, has 4 good games and 2 bad and is a bit lazy but I'd take 4 mill any day of the week, Woods is young and talented when he gets good service and although been on loan a lot it does nt surprise me you and Huddersfield has come in for him, you've got the clout wages wise and I don't think we would get in a bidding war for him, in our interest he is settled here so it'll be interesting what W.B.A do .
How many call up has Chester had? How many HULL players are in and around the England under 21 set up? We have 3. Ben Marshall, Martyn Waghorn and Liam Moore have all played for the under 21's this season
Congratulations, we have two, but it's a pathetic basis on which to base a players ability and as I've already advised, I'm bored of these childish pissing competitions.
Who then? How is it a pathetic basis? They are gaining international recognition for the form and abilities.
Yay he's growing up To be fair, this thread is called "Do we (Leicester) need to sign anybody in January transfer window?"... Not "Morgan is better than Chester". There is no mention of Hull, or James Chester... If you had just left us to it, then we would still be discussing where we need to strengthen, which I was quite enjoying before it descended in to this...
One of our players called up for the England U21's was Cameron Stewart and he wouldn't get in either of our teams at the moment. And you didn't ask how many were internationals, you asked how many played for the England U21's. As half our starting XI is Irish, they would have had quite some difficulty getting into the England U21's.
That's only 1 then Is Chester Irish then or just not as good as the other English defenders coming through
According to his Wikipedia page, he has never appeared on the international stage at any level. Not even U19's, let alone U21's... If he was THAT good, surely he would have? I mean, even Hobbs made 3 appearances for the U19's.
Okay, I admit is Liam Moore must be way better than James Chester because he played seven minutes in a friendly for England U21's. Christ, it's like debating with a twelve year old.
I'm not saying Liam Moore is, or will be, a better player. Who really knows? I'm just saying that your opinion of James Chester being the best thing since sliced bread, best defender in the league, and definitely 100% set for a career in the Premiership seems to go against the facts that he has never made an international appearance at any level... Just saying! I remember when everyone raved like this about Jack Hobbs, to quote his Wikipedia page... "On 18 March 2010, it was revealed that England U21 manager Stuart Pearce was looking to give him a call to the squad. He has been described by him and his coaches as a fantastic young prospect, who will be capable of Premier League Football in the future."
In terms of Trotter he has the ability to pick a game up by the scruff of its neck and at times it's what we've missed. Leeds away, Barnsley home, Wolves away, Bolton away, Brum away... We dropped points in those games where our midfield wasn't up to scratch and we didn't have a player who could start to dicctate play by breaking up opposition attacks.
I just said he was a good player and had more chance than Morgan of having a decent Premier League career due to his age. I never said anything about him being the best defender in the league. Steve Bruce never player for England, but somehow managed to play 420 games for Man United. It's far too narrow a criteria on which to judge a player, particularly a young player.
Obviously I agree that Chester has more of a chance of a PL career due to his age. Sorry, I just bunch you Hull fans opinions together, is Charles the only one who thinks Chester is the best defender in the league? Good point, international appearances are by no means a direct indication of ability, but if Chester is as good as some of you are making out then I thought he would have been involved somehow by now.
From what I have heard about Chester, he loves Hull so much that he is waiting for Hull to claim independence from England so he can play for the Hull national team - hence his lack of appearances on the international scene.
